Denver - Charlotte - Brooklyn

Post#1 » by Godaddycurse » Thu May 9, 2024 6:11 pm

Denver trade: MPJ
Denver receive: Grant Williams, DFS, Sharpe

Charlotte trade: Williams, Bertans, 2027 MIA LP 1st
Charlotte receive: MPJ

Brooklyn trade: DFS, Sharpe
Brooklyn receive: Bertans, 2027 MIA (LP, then unprotected) 1st

Why for Denver: break MPJ down into several 2 way forwards and a back up C
Why for Charlotte: make a splash for a sharpshooter/get a replacement for bridges if he leaves
Why for Brooklyn: get a pick for DFS

Does Denver owe more? (ie. #28)

I'm not ready to break up Denver over 2 games. If Murray wasn't playing so poorly the series would almost certainly be tied. I get the merits of the trade for them, but not sure they want to make this kind of change.

I don't see a purpose for Denver at all. They have absolutely no way to replace MPJ. He's a gigantic risk and will never fetch real value till the final year or two of his contract if he stays healthy, but there's no reason for Denver to take such a hit in both value and fit. Just hope his back holds up and hope he doesn't fall into trouble like his 3 brothers. On the other hand, I like MPJ's fit with the Hornets if he didn't have 3 years left on a max deal. However he's not anywhere close to max caliber even when healthy. Factor in the time bomb that his back might or might not be, and I'm out.

I still like the idea of Flipping MPJ and the 24 FRP for The Mobley brothers. The 24 FRP is Chomche.

Charlotte is not the right fit for anybody with any type of injury history.

Miller is basically a better version of MPJ. They both are frail wings. Not a good fit tbh
