GS
CP3
Wiggins
Wash
Poole
Kuzma
Wash saves rids Poole Deal. Gambles Wiggins Raises play.
CP3 gets rerouted to contender
GS gets more offensive punch.
Heavy Luxury tax bill for 2 players in their prime
Poole is a known system fit.

So the Warriors go hard in the lux tax with the return of Poole of all players to what? Be a Play in team? What?
Ok

The Warriors salary dumped Poole for reasons that haven't changed (and his play certainly didn't improve).

When Green played warriors were 33-22 with a 6pt improvement in DRTG.
That means top 5 in Offense and Defense.
IMO more than play in.

Even if there wasn't history, it would seem that GS should value cap space more than Washington who is currently in talent acquisition phase. Cap space is still valuable to the Wiz for "bring out your dead" trades and the like but Golden State has to watch their budget far more carefully. Thus logically Poole's longer contract is more of a burden to GS than Washington which makes this a difficult trade to make as the salary equity is going the wrong way.

Yeah this is silly for a lot of reasons. GS doesn’t want or need (nor can we afford to take) Poole back.

I think we might be past the time where Chris Paul can be easily "rerouted to a contender" at a cost of $30M. There's just no way it makes sense to opt in on Paul's final deal. The moment that happens, he becomes a substantially negative-value liability.
