Jimmy B to OKC

The Thunder need another star. They were close but, 1 more major vet can help push them over the edge. Miami needs to move on and infuse some youth into the team:
OKC:
Giddey
Dort
2024 pick (#12)
2025 Miami pick returned
2025 Philly pick (1-6 protection)
Miami:
Jimmy Butler
Afterwards the Thunder get a legit playoff killer who is proven time and time again. They have the picks to burn and losing Giddey and Dort won't hurt. They also have enough young to make up for when Jimmy sits in the regular season.
Miami gets 2 young pieces including someone in Dort who will fit like a glove on that team. Giddey they buy low on, thinking that Spo and Heat Culture can fix him....and they're probably right. Also get their own picks back and a couple others to fill out depth. Lastly, they save roughly 23M off the cap.
Thoughts?

I think Butler has a hard time staying Healthy and that won’t get any better as he ages. I don’t think I’d do it that from an OKC perspective.

I think that he can give them 2/3 good years, as long as they injury manage him. That's all they need. Keep him fresh for the playoffs and wait for him to dominate again.
They're not giving up much.

It's evident that Oklahoma City needs another star. SGA is a great player but he was gassed out there. I suspect them to kick the tires and see what Mitchell costs. I think he is the better fit over Butler. Butler in a video game world is the perfect fit but irl Butler seems to have injury problems and attitude problems.
I wonder how far off is OKC going after KD or Booker or Mikal Bridges by really going into the war chest. They could use more size both Gafford and Lively were getting a lot of offensive rebounds.
Maybe they take a run at Claxton and hope he works with Chet of run at Jakob Poeltl and get him for Kenrich Williams, Dieng and some low end pick

Claxton, Poeltl or Allen would be ideal for OKC. Poeltl would be the cheapest but is an excellent screener, passer, very unselfish, and advanced analytics love him. Toronto is too far off to compete and doesn't have enough shooters to put around him - plus Darko is going in another stylistic direction.

From South Beach to Tornado Alley
Life comes at you fast.
Nah seriously that's the perfect spot for Jimmy B if he wants to win a championship. Just not sure that location would interest him.

There's a lot of us that think KD would be the perfect there. Suns can recoup some of what they gave up for him. OKC get a true superstar to pair with SGA. Durant gets some form of redemption as he returns "home" to finally deliver a chip.
I think that idea has legs, not sure if the Suns would pull the trigger so quickly after they made that move. KD would prolly have to force the issue.

Jones came out again today and doubled down that he has no intention of breaking up his trio. OKC needs more size though, they don't have any to compete.

Poeltl looks like he's on the block Toronto looks to a rebuild. If you can get Dieng (11th pick 2 years ago) plus a decent pick I think Toronto looks at it. They waited and got zero for FVV and got a decent return for both Pascal and OG but if they moved each a year before I think they could have got a lot more.
If I am OKC I stay away from Zion, Vooch and Capela. I don't think they want Zach LaVine (mainly his deal) I don't know if Ingram is worth it as well. OKC needs to make a move to get SGA that second star

Bridges might be a good target, not sure the Nets are going to be able to maximize enough around him and he'd make a solid 2nd option.

I feel like they can do better than him. Plus, I'm not sure that Mikal is a #2 on a title winning team. My idea I honestly think would work very well for both sides.....
But OKC can pretty wait and grab whomever that becomes available. Only problem is Oklahoma isn't exactly a beacon to NBA players. So they have to choose from what guys will be willing to come there.
Who that is, we'll find out. Hopefully soon as I'm interested to see what they do with this treasure trove of picks/players.

The return for Miami is good enough, but I want the Heat to keep Butler and compete. The package Miami is getting here is like their rebuilding instead of retooling

We'd obviously be making another move with some of these assets plus some of our own,

Then Riley should find a 3rd team before agreeing to this trade with OKC.

Clearly, but I'm not sure he does this unless Jimmy demands out and lists OKC as an option. I think it's far more likely we'd try to flip some of our assets, along with Herro, to try and find Jimmy and Bam a new running mate.

I mean I don't expect the Suns to trade Booker/KD and Beal is just so difficult with his contract and NTC. But even if he were looking at trading them, this is what every team says. It's fairly meaningless. If you come out and say publicly we are shopping guys, its harder to get the best deals.

Jimmy is not the player they should target. They should look at Bam, the fit makes more sense.

He's certainly not for sale, though. Miami knows what they have with Bam.

I'd wait and make the picks, you guys seem to always find players. Build Giddey's value back up, showcase Jovic and J³ along with whoever you draft with the 2 picks you have this draft then by the trade deadline, you'll have a ton of stuff to offer.
Maybe with all of that you can get a massive package together for a pissed off Giannis or Embiid or whomever is available come next February. Plus, with the money saved off the cap the team can sign a FA or 2 adding even more players that can be moved at a later date.
