Shoukdnt do much. They got a few picks but feels like more young guys isnt what they need. Or are they drafting edey? They need some big body. If allen is on his way out of cavs, use picks to get him somehow?

I'm team be super aggressive. But in a smart, calculated way. I would identify 3 or 4 players you really believe fit you and go hard after them. If you can't get your guy(s), then just add a couple smart, tough-minded veterans(ideally one of them a backup center), try and lock up Wiggins/Joe on long-term deals and count on expected internal development from a fair number of your rotation guys.

At the same time, I'd keep doing the Presti of trying to roll back assets. If you don't love a guy in this draft, trade out. If there are young players on the roster with value than you don't see as core, trade them for futures. Keep that quantity asset pool alive so that when your guy becomes available you always have a volume package to give.

And then you gotta decide on Giddey. On paper he's not a great fit as a starter, but you were the number 1 seed starting him. He was good in the first round. Is this just a Dallas ability to exploit him? Do you want to see about extending him? Or is he still just the most obvious starter to upgrade and you accept maybe he blossoms elsewhere, but you have to worry about your team?

Probably the team(outside of Dallas obviously) I'm most interested in this summer.

Giddey for draymond would take them to the next level

Giddey and Dort for Jarrett Allen is probably their best play.

The Thunder ran almost no jump shots off screens and none of their guys are really good screeners so Markkanen is a pretty miserable fit...

Paul George is a very fun idea as the Clippers' next three picks are owed to the Thunder.

The backcourt is good. But they need beef upfront, as Chet and JWill are on the smaller size.

You need a bigger C for 20-24 MPG so that Chet and JWill can play down a position.

Need a vet PF, because Jwill may be best suited as a SF. He is smaller than SGA(!)

The rest is good, they can take their time.

Giddey for Claxton in a sign a trade

They need a stretch 4 and more bench scoring.

I’d target trading for Lauri Markannen and signing Spencer Dinwiddie with exemption money.

Example:

Giddey + #12 + 2025 Utah pick returned + 2026 2nd most favourable 1st between Houston/OKC/LAC for Markannen.

Sign Dinwiddie for 2+1, 3 years, $39 million (3rd year option)

Nailed it IMO. Measured aggression seems right. Medium sense of urgency.

Don’t know that you have to decide on Giddey though. Depending on the other roster changes he could actually fit better afterwards.

Giddey, Dieng, 12, 2025 MIA 1st (lotto prot, 2025 PHI 1st (top 6 prot), 2025 UTA 1st (top 10 prot), 2026 2 best 1sts of OKC/LAC/HOU), best of 2028 DAL/OKC 1st

For

John Collins, Lauri, Kessler

They can do whatever Presti wants..

They should have added someone at the deadline. With Pascal, PJ wouldn’t have looked like a border like all star. And they’d be going to the WCF.. I get the kids had to show they can play playoff ball. I just don’t believe that.

But… this summer they can be aggressive since now they know their kids are close. But before you trade for talent, all of these free agents have to turn you down. OKC doesn’t need “a star”.. But PG would be perfect. Claxton or IH would really help... One that we don’t talk about much is Tobias Harris..

Yeah you don't have to. You can certainly just play out his final year. I think its just a personal thing with me. If I have a guy I'm not sure I want to extend, and who has value, I'm at least exploring it. And again, he still seems like the most obvious starter to upgrade--obviously that could mean just moving him to the bench, or if they upgrade someone else significantly in a way that makes him more tenable as a starter...

I still think there is a good player there.

I wouldn't do too much. I would count internal growth until trade deadline. Only go after one big. Primary target would be Hartenstein, cause I think his passing would fit well with OKC. If that fails then try Claxton or use Giddey in a trade for other bigs (WCJ from Orlando, Allen from Cavs, Kuzma from Washinton). And I know you probably would have offer more than just Giddey to get those players, but it is a start and Kuzma and WCJ could be available just with additional picks.

Lauri, Jarret Allen, Claxton seem like good targets. Fantastic young team with an NBA 1st team MVP candidate. I think get a solid Big like the guys above if you can and focus on building good chemistry.

Big offer for Claxton and fall back smaller offer for Hartenstein.

Call Cavs for Allen but negotiate for Mobley. If I was Presti, willing to put Dort in trade for Mobley but not Allen. Not sure why - just my feeling.

Markkanen would be nice, but as I said in other thread, I just don’t see Ainge wanting quantity - rather a quality shinny object (which OKC doesn’t have outside of adding Jalen which is a no go!).

Crazy aggressive suggestion. Let’s say Presti really likes Sarr and Chet together longterm. Presti’s position of depth is guard (or G/F).

To Hawks: Jalen + Hawks picks (some combo of owed draft capital from Spurs)

To Spurs: Trae

To OKC: #1 + Vassell

Bones of trade. Spurs and Presti have plenty of assets to make value exchange work.

How do Vassell and SGA work? With Dort and Wallace mixed in.

Chet or Sarr
Sarr or Chet
Dort | Vassell
Vassell | SGA
SGA | Wallace

I think a center/PF like Jalen Smith would fit very well with them, a good rebounder and can shoot a little...If you don't want to do anything drastic..
I would add Giddey for Kuzma and select with 12 some guard to replace Giddey... some interesting ones in that range.. Dillingham/ Carter/McCain..

Chet/J.Smith/Jaylin
Kuzma/K.Williams
J.Williams/Wiggins
Dort/I.Joe
SGA/Casón/Draft

Who are your 3 to 4 players? I need names :)

Hard to say for sure without knowing which players are available in trade. If the Nets get smart about trading Mikal, he'd be a target. I still like Siakam for them, but I think that window has likely closed. Were Lebron to shockingly leave LA, I'm going hard, hard after AD. I'm exploring Paul George.

Those are probably my main 4. With Mikal and PG being real possibilities and the other two feeling much more pipe-dreamy.
