Wiz/LAL/Chi/Mia: Wiz get two top 15 picks, Kuzma to Bulls, Miami ducks the tax

Simple trade:
Wiz trades: Kuzma+Davis+26 for 11+15+Gabe Vincent+Lonzo (expiring)+Vanderbilt (expiring)
Chicago trades: Lonzo (expiring)+11 for Kuzma+17
Miami trades: Robinson+15 for Davis
Lakers trade: Vincent+Vanderbilt+17 for Robinson+26
Why for the Wizards?
1). They move up from 26 to 15 in essence while also getting 11 to take more bites at the apple for getting young talent. They are the NBA's feeder team for unwanted contracts (in this case, Gabe Vincent's bad deal).
Why for the Bulls?
1). Well, they don't seem to want to rebuild. Kuzma gets them a productive player at the cost of the unreliable Lonzo, while moving down 6 slots in the draft.
Why for the Heat?
1). Simple. They duck the tax big time. The cost of shedding salary to duck the tax is a mid first rounder (See the Kemba Walker trade from years ago from Boston).
2). Maybe Davis shows sometime other than being the big time bust that he's been in Washington.
Why for the Lakers?
1). They rid themselves of Vincent while getting a sharpshooter in Duncan Robinson. Moving down from 17 to 26 in this draft isn't that big of a difference.

Everything feels pretty reasonable on value.
Biggest question for me is Miami paying to dump Robinson's salary like this. I struggle to see them doing that. I think if you left Davis in Washington and sent Vandy to Miami its at least a bit better. Vandy is a guy they should be able to get some minutes out of at a position of need.

Thanks for the feedback. Sure, the trade still works if Davis stays in Washington and Vandy goes to Miami.

We will not give up any values to move Duncan. The final year of his contract is not guaranteed. A team like Orlando would definitely be interested in him.

Yeah, we're talking about one of the best 3 point shooters in the game who happens to do a lot of other things very well, offensively. There is no way in the world we trade him and the 15th pick in the draft as a straight salary dump. Vanderbilt is...interesting...but meh...I don't see that happening, either.

Fair enough. I take it that Miami is ok with paying the tax this year then? There really isn't another move to make if they don't want to in terms of shedding salary.

For two top 15 picks, Washington might add Kispert, a similar but cheaper 3 point shooting specialist like Duncan Robinson, and keep Davis and #26.

Don’t see Lakers doing this. Feel they value Vanderbilt more then this.

I don't agree.
I could MAYBE see the Chicago portion work.
I can't imagine Miami or Lakers would agree to this

So there is a guy named Davis in Washington that’s worth Duncan Robinson and 15? I need to do my research.

For sure the Heat likes to lessen their tax burden, but your trade is not attractive to pull the trigger.

I haven’t heard that Miami is trying to duck the tax? I would expect them to try to trade for bigger fish.
I don’t think Duncan Robinson is that bad a contract to require a first to move. I also think this is overvaluing Kuzma…or assuming Davis is worth a lottery pick which is not the case.

Never underestimate our desire and importance of not paying the tax. Also remember he was basically unplayable for over a year and now is dealing with back issue and possible arthritis problems. This is such a Heat move, it gets us out of the tax, keeps Herro who for whatever reason the front office loves and saves our owner millions.

This is not "Such a Heat move." Never, in our history, have we given up a first to dump salary, not even when we were trying to clear the books for 2010. If you'll remember, we traded Shawn Marion and Marcus Banks to Toronto for Jermaine O'Neal and a first. We got the first. Other than that, we've traded some seconds away to duck the tax (like when we dealt Goran's brother to Boston) but those have all been little moves.

They definitely wouldn't. We don't go from Duncan Robinson's contract being an albatross one offseason and an asset the next. I could maybe see the Lakers doing something like Vincent/17 for Robinson/26, but Lakers aren't throwing Vanderbilt in for the hell of it.
