OKC trade: Giddey, 2nd best of 2025 1st (OKC/UTAH/PHI/MIA)
Utah trade: Hendricks
Why for Utah: add their PGOF
Why for OKC: delay rookie scale clock by 2 yrs and fill a position of need

Giddey was unimpressive in the playoffs, I would want more than this.

No, I don't see the Jazz moving on from Hendricks. Certainly not for Giddey + a highly protected first.

OKC's 2025 1sts are:
MIA 2025 LP
PHI 2025 top 6 protected
LAC (unp)/OKC/HOU (top 4)
you would get the better of MIA/PHI probably, and based on this year could mean a mid 1st in a strong draft year. it's not that highly protected

They also have the Jazz pick, top-10 protected and the Rockets part of the swap is top-10 protected. I must have misread because I thought it originally said "2nd worst" (of potentially four picks). At 2nd best it changes the calculus somewhat, but it's still unappealing.

Look, I don't like Hendricks very much, but what exactly is Giddey's upside?
He's getting better at shooting, but he has to be ELITE at shooting to make up for how bad his interior scoring and defense is.
... He's not going to be elite at shooting.

i changed it to 2nd best because i thought they only had 3 lol. you're right i missed jazz one, although i feel like jazz won't convey that pick next year either. I expect another tank for a top pick next year from them

Not trading a recent lottery pick for Giddey.

Philosophically, OKC is the kind of organization that wouldn’t discount Hendricks because he hasn’t shown himself ready to play rotation minutes on a winning team. However they have their own prospect in Ousmane Dieng, likely to get an opportunity next season.
Giddey is a hard sell on realgm. I’m ok not selling.

I don't think OKC is able to offer developmental minutes to multiple players. We need a Giddey replacement to be able to play meaningful minutes. Hendricks isn't ready to do that at this time.

Yeah OKC doesn’t need a developmental guy here.
