Realistic Jamal Murray Trades

I've thought for a while that Jamal Murray is one of the most overrated players in the league. He's horrific with Jokic off the court and relies on Jokic's gravity to get easier looks. And if he's under 95% physically, which maybe this playoffs he was about 90%, his game really suffers maybe more than anyone in the league.

I actually think he's the guy the Nuggets should trade as even after the debacle of this year's playoffs he still will have the highest trade value/ actual impact ratio on the team. Also the idea of them allocating 50m+ to him makes me shudder in anguish.

Donovan Mitchell is a guy who I think is a realistic target but it probably needs to be a 3 team trade, as Cleveland wouldn't want Murray with Garland.

Could Barnes be a target with the Canucks love for Murray?

Would like to hear any ideas you all have.

This makes no sense. You need a scoring guard who can play off Jokic. Jamal and Jokic have excellent chemistry together, and have proven they can win.

If anything, they should shop Nnaji or maybe Porter.

Nuggets have no way to bridge the gap between Murray and Jokic.
Murray has never made an all-star or all NBA, I'd say he's underrated since he's certainly on that level IMO.
If Nuggets decide that they don't want to roll the dice with Murray again, expect lower than market value, since team will be asking themselves why screw with a great thing?

Would you trade Kyrie for Murray? Dallas gets younger, Denver gets a better player....

Nope, Kyrie is a better player, and ironically, he's less injury prune than Jamal, both are practically expiring (unless something bad happens next year and Kyrie opts in).

Murray is hard to gauge as he is an AS level player. And if you trade him you need a PG coming back as they don't have a replacement.
Peyton Watson and Braun will take another step next season, they need to find some more depth in the big man department and they'll be fine.

As for a trade though lol. If you were to bring in a PG, how about the Magic for Cole/Isaac?

How do Murray and Mitchell work together? White board this one on for size…

To Pels: Garland + Allen + Strus

To Cavs: Murray + MPJ + Herb Jones

To Nugs: Ingram + McCollum

Who adds?

New Pels:
Allen (get their C)
Zion
Murphy
Strus | Daniels
Garland

New Cavs:
Mobley
MPJ or Herb
Herb or MPJ
Mitchell
Murray

New Nugs:
Jokic
Gordon
Ingram
KCP
McCollum

Funny thing is Jamal didn't even get close to making the all star team this year. Fox, Sabonis, Gobert, Markkanen, Chet, Jalen Williams, Sengun, Zion and Wemby all clearly deserved it ahead of him without making the team, and you could make good arguments for Kyrie and JJJ too. He would have been a toss up with Harden after these guys imo.

I don't think there is one. Denver is going to run it back by margin changes.

“Player X sucks. They should trade him for Player Y who plays the same position but is a better player.”

The only problem with this idea is that no team will take the other side of that trade. You might as well be complaining about the sun rising in the East when you would prefer that it rise in the West.

Really, really hard to make this work. Nuggets should just run it back and just try to slightly improve their bench. They still have the best player in the NBA and a perfectly complementary lineup around him. Just thought they could flip the switch when they wanted, but ran into a hungrier/younger team with size to match in the frontcourt

Okay I'm done with this style of OP that is all a hyper negative narrative and combined with a slur in the OP, I'm locking it.

OP, if you want to start a new thread, but without all your commentary, feel free.
