Trae Easy, Fresh PrIngram (ATL/NOP/PHI)

ATL out: Young, Bogdanovic
ATL in: McCollum, #16, 2025 MIL 1st, 2027 MIL 1st (unp), 2028 LAC 1st (unp)

Why? Get several picks to rebuild around the #1 pick. Good enough not to be terrible since don't own 1st pick. Don't want Ingram because they don't want to max him next summer. Free up a ton of cap space. Next summer trade Murray and McCollum since they can tank again.

NOP out: Ingram, McCollum, #17, 2027 MIL 1st (unp)
NOP in: Young, Bogdanovic

Why? Get an All-Star PG to pair with Zion and improve spacing overall. Save roughly $10 mil in cap space.

PHI out: #16, 2028 LAC 1st (unp)
PHI in: Ingram

Why? Get a 3rd banana to Maxey and Embiid and have cap space remaining to round out the roster.

Am I reading OP right? Trae Young for a bunch of meh picks?

So...why is Philly here?

Including Philly feels like a value loss as they have max free agent chances otherwise.

But assuming it was so so expiring or even more so full empty cap space, how much do you have Ingram worth compared to a mid 1st and an h protected clipper pick?

ATL isn’t going to max Ingram.

I think an Atlanta team would prefer Ingram to additional picks. Keep in mind OP missed #17 going to Atlanta.

NOP out: Ingram, McCollum, #17, 2027 MIL 1st (unp)

I think the pick has more value as an unprotected 2025 LAL pick rather than #17.

Here is the two-team deal.

ATL out: Young, Capella
NOP out: Ingram, McCollum, Better of 2025 LAL/MIL 1st, 2027 MIL 1st

I'd much prefer this if I were Atlanta to the OP deal.

The latter two picks are gold. Plus they save roughly $26 mil, which is crucial given their success vs payrolll.

I mean Siakam went for more than Ingram here and he was traded a month ahead of the deadline.

If the Hawks are okay with pairing McCollum and Murray (they shouldn't be), then they tell the Pelicans they can keep Ingram for a separate trade and thar they want that Lakers pick.

So you say. But a win-now team like the Hawks (not owning own 1sts) is NOT trading for #16 in weak draft, late 25 1st and the HOPE 4x drafts from now they get a good draft pick. Which still is probably late 1st. GM will be fired by then.

Trae Young gets traded for a very high quality win-now player in more of a swap or at least a premium asset as centerpiece. Meaning a high upside youth or an amazing pick (least likely accepted by Hawks).

Hawks are not tanking, not trading their best player for meh future picks. They aren’t Ainge Jazz of 2022 offseason.

I acknowledge the picks to ATL are the hardest part here. Not sure what combo works best, but I think ATLs direction is clear.

They’ve been trying to get off money, just won the #1 pick, and smoke surrounding Trae has been swirling for 1-2 years.

Edit: Maybe something like #16, 2025 LAL 1st, 2027 MIL 1st, 2028 LAC 1st?

Hawks have plenty of other ways to get off money and rumors swirl around almost every hawks player dating back to John Collins.

But NOP would prefer the OP IMO.

So why haven't they done so if it's as easy as you say?

Yea there's no way in hell ATL would want Ingram just to have to max him a year later.

Never said it’s easy but offseason hasn’t even started….
