Knicks/Rockets/OKC

A little change up.
I saw the Rockets had the 2nd best odds to acquire Julius Randle if he were traded, and while on the surface for NY, it doesnt make much sense, but maybe the assets they get out of Houston will be more helpful towards their "superstar" trade.
Rockets trade:
3rd Pick
Tari Eason
Steven Adams
JaeSean Tate
Rockets receive:
Julius Randle
2025 swap option with Thunder nullified.
24th pick
Why for Houston? In their quest to win now, they move the 3rd pick in the draft for Randle along with Eason. Randle is from Texas, and they shouldn't have a problem locking him in long term. FVV/Green/Brooks/Randle/Sengun is an extremely formidable lineup to contend for a WC playoff spot next year. They also get a little additional value by way of the 24th pick in this draft and their 2025 swap back from the Rockets for Steven Adams, which could project to be a 5-10 pick difference in 2025.
Knicks trade:
Julius Randle
24th pick
Knicks receive:
Tari Eason
JaeSean Tate
3rd Overall pick
Why for NY? Wellllll one could argue they would never make a trade like this, and thats probably right, but they are obviously in the market for a superstar and in that trade, I'd have to imagine that the salary flexibility and the rights to the third overall pick would have more value in their quest. If they held the pick, I could see Clingan (replace Hartenstein) or Dillingham (replace IQ) as potential targets. Eason is def a Thibs guy. I could then see them targeting a Kuzma type to slot into the 4 for the upcoming season.
OKC trades:
Swap rights with Houston in 2025
OKC receives:
Steven Adams
Why for OKC? well one might argue that OKC has cap space and could've acquired Adams at last years deadline if they wanted him, but I think OKC going through their first playoff matchup sees the need for toughness and rebounding and Adams who is a living legend in OKC would fit right in. While only on a 1 year deal, it does provide them flexibility going forward.
