Embiid For Adebayo

To Miami: Embiid
To Philly: Bam Adebayo, Kevin Luv, FRP

Before we get all haterade, here's my thought. If I'm Philly, I really don't think I'm winning a ship with this guy with all of the great teams in the league. He could be an albatross contract in 2 years for all we know, and the drop off between his value now and when he declines, possibly rapidly, is franchise changing. Maxey and Adebayo being on the same timeline is a pretty awesome situation to build on.

If I'm Miami, they need to rebuild or make a big move, and maybe Riley wants to go all in. Maybe Butler is what Embiid needs. I could see people saying that Philly needs to get more, but I almost think I'd be more worried making this trade if I'm Miami. High upside, but do we really think this guy is ever gonna win?

Bam is 27 and honestly Philly has a better chance of winning with 33-year-old Embiid playing at 50% than Prime Bam at 100%. Kevin Love and FRP isn't bridging that gap.

Bam - two Finals appearances
Embiid - ZERO

Let's not underrate Bam because the value here is off. Bam is a fantastic player.

Yeah but there's a big gap between a good player and the most dominant scorer ever who is also a dominant rim defender.

I would take this and run if I were Philly.

Maxey/Bam is something you can build around.

Embiid has a 3yr window max before those knees give out. Makes sense for both teams honestly.

I think Bam is fantastic. And he’s only 27 years old.

But if I’m admitting I can’t win with Maxey/Joel and whatever I can get with the rest of the assets/cap space… why would I want Bam? He’s 3.5 years older than Maxey and will want a 30% max in two years, right?

Trade Bam to a third team and make sure you finish with a bottom two record.. now you have a top 5 pick in one of the best drafts in blah blah blah, all the assets returned from Joel and a ton of cap space to try and trade for a star to lead Maxey and the kids?

(Or just keep the top 3 player in the league and build around Him and your second star Maxey..)

There are far too many things wrong here to address.

Guys you dont have to argue about value, OP is illegal anyways/it's not enough to match salaries and/or Miami will be in 2nd apron
