Chi-Miami-Clev-Philly

Assumptions
Philly wants to go for it, they don't think they'll get an elite FA
Mitchell indicates he won't extend in Clev-and that he'll leave next summer. Better to get something now
Chi wants to resign DDR and move Lavine-stay competitive but free up $
Miami moves on from Butler

Miami sends Butler to Philly and Jovic/rights to #15 pick to Clev
Miami gets Mitchell

Chi sends Lavine to Clev
Chi gets '26 pick from Philly (not sure exactly whose it is, but it's not a high value pick)

Clev sends Mitchell to Miami and Niang to Philly (this part optional, to balance the $ for Clev-they can keep him if necessary)
Clev gets Lavine, Jovic, rights to #15 and #16 plus '28 Clip 1st from Philly

Philly sends rights to #16 and Clip '28 1st to Clev, and '26 1st to Chi
Philly gets Butler and maybe Niang

Miami adds their younger star, builds around Mitchell/Herro/JJJ/Bam

Chi clears a TON of $ and adds a low value 1st (to sell to fans-"we got something for Lavine")

Philly adds a star vet to help Embiid make the ECF

Clev adds a Mitchell replacement in Lavine, a nice 3rd big prospect in Jovic, plus the #15/16 this year and a valuable future 1st from the Clips (unprotected in '28)

The Sixers should be getting Mitchell since there paying for him. Cut out Miami.

Cavs play out the season with Mitchell before doing something like this. A Garland/Lavine backcourt is worse than a Garland/Strus backcourt.

Edit: Honestly, there's no reason for the Bulls to be in this. A huge TPE, Jovic, and future firsts (it would take on more) is something that can be worked with.

I think we undervalue Lavine a lot on this board. He had a down year, and his injury hurts, but he's a 25 pt efficient scorer who would look good with Garland. He plays solid man D, better than Mitchell, and he'd keep Clev a playoff team.

Struss is best off the bench

Maybe put NO in Chi's place?

BI to Clev
Cap space, along with #15/#16 to NO, and the future pick?

I think the Bulls shopped him pretty hard a few months ago and he's valued pretty accurately. He needs to get on the court, stay healthy, play well, and have the Bulls not play worse with him in order to improve his value.

I assume you're gonna hate this critique as a Chicago fan... But wouldn't this work better without Chicago?

Something like:
Philly get Butler
Cavs get Herro and a bunch of picks
Heat get Mitchell and a max TE for Riley to scheme with

Even in a 'Mitchell wants out this second' scenario, i can't imaging CLE taking Lavine on that contract.

I don't see adding Jovic and this year's first for Mitchell. youngcrev's deal gets that kind of return.

Well, what picks would Cleveland be receiving? The picks are doing almost all the lifting here as the Cavs aren’t going to value Herro a great deal.

All the ones from the original deal.

I imagine they'd value Herro more than LaVine, no?

Easy no from Cleveland. I think Cleveland and Miami can work together as I’m sure the Cavs would like JJJ and Jovic. Heat can keep Butler as well so it’s a huge win for them. Cavs are losing value on this deal so that Philly can get Butler.

Huh? The Sixers are contributing 3 1st round picks, I don't see how the Cavs are losing value by their involvement. Herro, Jovic and 4 1st round picks feels like a better return than what they could work out individually with the Heat.

Your original proposal didn’t have Jovic in it. Adding Jovic makes it better. I still like potential deals with Brooklyn and Houston better, however Jovic/Herro/#15/#16/LAC 28/Philly 26 is competitive.
