New Orleans - Sacramento

Okay I proposed this earlier and I am going to repropose it with a slightly different twist.

Here is Cammo's mock draft which I largely agree on value

https://basketball.realgm.com/nba/draft/draft_simulator/view/1038032/

but having watched forwards rise and guards fall for the past 3 years I don't expect different this year. So I expect Williams and Salaun to be gone at 13 and the board to be: Collier, McCain, Carter, Messi, Edey

I am not sure whether to replace CJ with a real point guard or replace Valanciunas I think the Pels will love one of those guys at 13.

So the Kings trade 13 to the Pels who take they guy they love from that group.

The Pels trade 17 and 21 to the Kings:
Kings draft DaSilva at 17 and One of Smith, Furpy or Chomche at 21

I think it a reasonable ask and would have to be an on the clock type of deal. I think I would just stand still if I was the Pels unless someone I really wanted fell.

Who is Adams?

I think that is the sentiment, but I am on the fence still. 21 should still get them one of Missi, Ware or Edey I would wager if they are targeting a center. If I think if could get Carter or Collier at 17 I might keep the pick....but likely deferring.

If they are planning to trade it to trade up i'm pretty sure its more valuable as an unprotected 2025 1st.

OKC will def take it as a LAL 2025 1st + 21 at 12 for example

Kings would do that for 13 and likely add a little value back. Having a 2025 first that’s unprotected means they free up their picks.

Except most mocks have Carter and Collier long gone by 17. Here is Wasserman at Bleacher Report

https://bleacherreport.com/articles/10121302-2024-nba-mock-draft-new-no-1-post-combine-2-round-predictions

I think Collier, Carter et all could be a pretty good pick and value for the Pels.

Maybe but I wouldn’t discount LA’s ability to sign free agents. This draft is weak at the top but strong in the teens. I don’t think they will get a better guard than Collier or Carter next year.

Agreed. Would put the Port 2nd in there.

#13/'25 Port 2nd for 21/'25 Lakers 1st

Pels have to elect whether to take the pick or defer to ‘25 in the next 6 days (6/1 deadline). Every report and common sense says they are going to defer.

The unprotected ‘25 is just a much better asset than 17. I can’t see them using that pick to move up 8 spots.
