Sac/Detroit

13 + salary for Isaiah Stewart

Kings have to select, then trade, so the rookie + salary. Duarte? Sasha?

Detroit gets a lotto pick.
Sac gets a 4/5 that fits.

I was thinking this might be a Malik space deal, but it would have to clear out a lot of salary on Detroit’s books

I like Stewart more than most Pistons fans. He’s a hard worker, good teammate on a very reasonable 4x$15M contract. Not sure #13 gets us anything better than that. If we trade Cade and start over? Sure. But I hope Pistons don’t do this.

Fair. I figure it’s a lotto pick for a role player. Yes, bad draft…good role player…

Detroit could use shooting so it’s possible Sasha could be a rotational guy too.

For Sac, toughness. 48 minutes of Sabonis/Beef Stew is not something teams frontlines will be looking forward too.

there's like no rim protection though. they'd feast on you inside the paint

Hyper athletic center. Plus, Len and Lyles. That works. I don’t see a better fit at the 4/5 next season for the lotto pick. Kings are a better team.

I can't see Stewart having that kind of value on his current extension.

If Sac sees a star on the board they will draft him. If not, what they need is a role player 4/5 that fits. He isn’t perfect, length mostly, but he makes the Kings better instantly.

Interesting fit. Kings could be under a lot of pressure to make a bigger move, though. Ingram, Lavine, etc. Have to keep Fox happy and don't want to slip back into 'Kangz' playoff droughts in a competitive West.

Kings make so much sense as an 'overpay' for Branfon Ingram team. He fits the archetype of player they need, and he cooked them multiple times this season. Assuming they'd keep Murray off limits, I wonder how many future first and swaps they could throw in with Barnes/ Heurter/ Davion to make D. Griffin take that offer. Then Pels could reroute those players and picks for other win-now talent, and save some picks for down the road when another star is available.

Doesn’t Sac lose their exceptions if you drop enough salary, to get more than 20 million, under the cap?

If #13 this year is like a pick in the 20's in most drafts... meh. I know a lot of Detroit fans dislike Stewart for some reason, but he's the only guy on the team that is a plus defender AND a plus shooter, and the only dude on the roster that has a little edge to him. He's also the only guy of the young draftees that I can say today he'd be an impact player on a contending team if you plug him in to any rotation. But people want to dump him because he doesn't have "star" upside or whatever.

Plus he's still younger than Dalton Knecht! lol

Maybe if someone the Pistons really are targeting from the top of the draft plummets down to 13, but I just have no faith in this draft. I'm not even sure we get a player better than Stewart at #5. It's that grim.

I think you still take a chance with pick 13 over the safety of a guy like Stewart. I don't not like him but the deal makes cap sense.

Yeah, it's good value for Beef Stew. But if we're still building around Cade it doesn't make sense to ship off the only guy who has a legit (but admittedly limited) role on both sides of the ball.

But if a new front office is doing a hard reboot, and shipping off Cade for whatever value they can? Sure: take this trade as well and bank the value win.

He is big. 7'4.75" wingspan. He can't jump tho.

Don't fall for it, man. It's not going to happen. It's not NBA2K with trade overrides.

I know it’s not really possible.
