MIN/ATL/BKN - KAT to ATL

Swapping KAT and Dejounte. Sorry if this has already been done.

MIN In: Dejounte, Cam Johnson, 2025 SAC 1st
MIN Out: KAT

Dejounte/Ant/Jaden/Cam/Gobert with Conley, NAW, Reid off the bench
Wolves get their PG of the future and a better-fitting forward next to Gobert. They retain the versatility to match up with Denver's size, but also better defend the pick-and-roll. They get more depth and a 1st, but don't save money with this deal over the next few years until Cam's contract expires.

ATL In: KAT
ATL Out: Dejounte, Capela, 2025 SAC 1st

Hawks get Trae a better-fitting #2 option and they get some frontcourt versatility with KAT/Okongwu/JJ. Think Trae can really unlock KAT's game. They'd still need to get a good perimeter defender. Maybe they can use Hunter and propects to get Bruce Brown, Thybull, Smart, or Caruso.

BKN In: Capela
BKN Out: Cam Johnson

Nets free up some cap space for next summer.

Think it might take a little more for KAT sadly from the Hawks. I feel instead of Capela we probably end up losing Onyeka. Although i probably still pull the trigger if we are keeping #1 still.

PG - Trae / Fa vet defensive PG ?
SG - Bufkin/Bogi
SF - Jalen johnson / Hunter
PF - Saar / Mo Gueye
C - Kat / Capela

Thats 3 really good defensive potential players around trae and Kat is pretty descent on defense as well. Hunter and Capela as defensive players on the bench with Bogi isn't a bad look either.

Overall i honestly like te makeup of the team around trae as it fits about what you need around him to make it work.

One has to remember in any Towns trade, the result has to be what Wolves are looking for. Since no one knows exactly what that is, Towns trades here have to make Wolves better. Better means overall, not necessarily short team, but long term and overall.

Going from Towns to Murray doesn’t seem like it checks those boxes.

No thanks to giving Murray, Okongwu + a 1st to pay Kat 4/221m. Much rather get a SF for Murray.

Im of the opposite i actually think Jalen would be better as a 3 after watching him play last year.

If I'm the Hawks, I'm watching the Playoffs + Towns' new contract that starts at 50+ having pick 1 where the best player is a PF/C, I won't do this, or anything that has to do with KAT... I wouldn't even do a direct change for Murray, especially charging half

Towns has potenatil but he looks rough in this series, you'd have to question if he's worth 55m per season

Can’t simply look at one series, he played up to the contract in the first two and especially vs Denver. If you think he’s a sub 20% 3 point shooter like he has been in the Dallas series fine but history would say otherwise, unfortunately his shot had gone cold when the Wolves this series.

Yeah sarr is my choice for sure in this draft i quite like his upside alot. I hope OO gets his act together if we do keep and start him. He took a step back this year. But maybe it's just because he's still trying to get a handle on Quinn's style of play. I still have faith in King Kongwu but he's gotta show me something this year.

lol. “Let’s watch a player who makes it to the WCF level of play and ding his value.” But “my guy who earned sitting at home for WCF - no ding of value.” Nice.

There are a few teams who can afford to pay a 2nd option $220M over the next four years. Atlanta is not one of those teams.

If we can get KAT for this cheap then you do the deal 10/10 times. Guys that talented are almost never available.

Make ownership worry about the money. That's not our problem to solve for.

I’d say this is obviously just a salary dump, but would agree.

Whatever direction the Nets take, this is too early to dump Cam J for an expiring at a position BK is rich in assuming Claxton re-signs.

I don’t think Cam J is terribly valuable right now, but surely could be dumped for an expiring until the deadline, worst case have to add a distant 2nd.

And might even quite easily find himself with first round value to a team in similar position to Dallas this year.

This is going to become pretty commonplace with the rising cap and new TV deals, don’t fool yourself.

Definitely a no from Brooklyn.

This trade frames Cam Johnson as having positive value yet Brooklyn sees none of it.

Salary and all included. I'd prefer murray over towns. Think compensation is going thr wrong way.

Not a fan of Cam J either but we don’t need another 5

Happy to look at something for an expiring in another position
