13/27 first (top4)/Mitchell/Heurter/Barnes/Sasha for Vassell/Beef Stew

Spurs are in it for Cade. They push draft capital back from 25 to 27 too. Pop loves Barnes and with Sasha give some spacing for the new Batman and Robin to start learning each others games.

Detroit is in it to restart and try to change the vibes. The new GM gets to pick 4/5/13 and gets a 2025 first as well. Johnson and Heurter help stabilize, they won’t be good but there is no need for massive losing streaks. Add these picks to the other young talent, use the cap space wisely…new days ahead.

Sac loses Monk but bounces back. Vassal is the quasi-third star. A Fox/Vassell/Ellis backcourt is nice. Beef Stew pairs with Sabonis. Murray and the full MLE on a long athletic defensive forward.

I would have SA just cut out Sac since they are getting Vassell cheap here. Just a direct Cade for #4 and future picks and Vassell stays in SA.

You wanted to trade 13 for stewart so you think vassell is worth non expiring filler + 2027 1st only? I think SAS rather keep vassell then and cut Sacramento out

Sac adds 29 first (top 4). Makes 27 unprotected.

If DET isn’t getting Vassel for themselves then I think SA can (and would) offer enough picks to cut SAC out.

Direction wise, I like it for Detroit - Detroit restarting with picks for Cade and Stewart. Don't care if it's a 2 separate trades or a 3-way. Rather get more value in picks instead of taking back Vassell and Johnson

I'd also want to spread the picks out a bit more, but that's a minor quibble, and could be addressed with other draft-day trades

I had a version where Sac did include their 29 first (3 total) and sent all the draft capital to Detroit and both Vassell and Johnson to Sac. I liked that better as a Kings fan but thought Detroit would want some know quantity.

Cade for #4 in this weak draft and spare parts (there is a small chance that Atlanta pick is something, but it's way more likely than not it's nothing) is a horrible return. I'd rather keep him and let him develop some more.

I’m open to moving Cade, but it’ll be expensive. Same for Stew, but obviously less expensive.

This draft is awful. I want potential in some of the picks. Don’t need players unless there’s some potential.

In short — no, not enough.

Cade would be dope with Wemby.

Vassell isn't for sale. Cunningham is just Garland with extra steps. It's the same misconception for what kind of player fits next to Wemby, but somehow even further fetishizes youth to justify massively overpaying.

These are 3 separate trades lumped together:
1) Pistons / Spurs: Cade for 4 + Atlanta '25 + Keldon Johnson
2) Pistons / Kings: Stewart for 13 + Huerter
3) Spurs / Kings: Vassell for Sacramento '27 + Devion Mitchell + Harrison Barnes + Sasha

Trade 1 is the core idea, only makes sense depending on how you feel about Cade. Personally I don't have him as an all NBA guy so I'd be wary of parting with those high potential picks to max a non max player (IMO), but on paper it's the one idea that makes the most sense if you fine tune the draft capital.
Trade 2 is a serious overpay for Stewart, backup centers don't go for lottery picks.
Trade 3 is preposterous, Spurs don't trade a 23 year old ascending player who scored 20 PPG efficiently and can shoot the 3 in high volume, and is signed for 5 years on a descending deal, for a crappy future first plus a bag of chips. Really outlandish stuff. People on this board have never watched the Spurs splay it seems if that's their valuation of Vassell.

Pretty hard pass from detroit. Cade still has a lot more upside than anyone in this draft.

If Cade is being considered for draft picks, below is what I would see... not saying they do it.

Spurs - Cade for 4/8/Vassell
Hawks - 1, Capella
Houston - Thompson, 3, future BKN 1st

They may all appear as lofty offers, but Cade is a talent and worthy gamble for those buyers. This is more likely only if Langdon comes in hot and wants to show his drafting chops.

Only way I'm considering trading Cade for picks at this point is for *multiple* unprotected likely lottery picks in next year's draft. Barring like four shots (including our own) at Cooper Flagg, I'd rather keep Cade. A Robin in the hand is worth two in the bush.
