Utah/Phoenix: Simple draft night trade (22 for 29+32)

Why for Phoenix?
1). With their luxury tax issues, they need as many cheap bodies as possible. Getting two picks near each other for one is good business.
Why for Utah?
1). Conversely, with so many young players already on the roster, they probably will not have the PT to develop them (alongside their other first rounder). Moving up to target a player they like is smart.

This is a deal that probably belongs as an on the clock deal. Utah needs to want a guy at 22 they don't want to risk not getting to 29 and the Suns have to not have a deal for a veteran or don't see a prospect they like so willing to take 2 shots.
Impossible to answer now what either team would want to do now.

For Phoenix the question would become is there a center (Ware/Edey/Missi) they value enough at 22. Trading back makes great sense if they feel one of those would fall or if they are sold on Kolek or Carrington as PGs.

Right. It's a sensible framework, but you only do that if you can get guys you like 10 spots later. Under that premise it makes sense, but if someone you love slides then you don't take chances and get him at 22. So it's a TBD.
