Jordan Clarkson: If not the Lakers, then where?

I had really wanted to trade Jordan Clarkson to the Lakers for Gabe Vincent and maybe 1-2 seconds, but the Lakers may end up using Vincent's salary to make other trades (like Dejounte Murray). If the Lakers don't go after Clarkson, are there any other teams out there who would be interested? He's a pretty terrible fit on the Jazz and seems to want to move on.

I'd consider THJ/Powell for Clarkson if Dallas can't use the salary for something better. No picks or anything though. The incentive for Utah is turning Clarkson's 2nd year into Powell's cheaper 2nd year.
Not claiming this is the best offer, but its one I'd at least consider. Clarkson isn't good, but he can create a shot and that would be handy to get through a regular season when Luka/Kyrie are going to miss a combined 30+ games.

I think the Jazz already have multiple players like Clarkson/THJ, and are trying to open playing time. I don't think it would make sense being trading partners. I could see them trading him with a 2nd rounder or two for a 1 year salary dump.

I don't think Clarkson is worth more than Gabe Vincent.

Oh I'm not selling THJ/Powell as players Utah wants. It's purely financial benefits I'm offering. If Utah would rather make a deal like the OP where they take back ugly future money and pick up a minor asset instead, that's a strategic choice I can't speak to and won't argue with anyone about.
Just was trying to give the OP an offer. Admitted it likely wasn't hte most attractive. But it was never about the players on-court of Utah or I would have mentioned what benefits I thought that had for Utah.

That's quite a bit of money we are taking on this year, though. I don't think we have a huge need to dump future salary, but we do need to keep space this year to R+E Lauri.

Denver can't combine salaries in a trade, right?

Pretty sure they can trade 2 players and get 2 back.

If that deal doesnt open up the MLE for Dallas to give to DJJ, not sure its worth it for them either as Clarkston is not a guy a team with aspirations should target.

Pretty sure than can trade 2 players and get 2 back.
A team over the second apron can't combine salaries for a trade. The source I found says the Nuggets are over it, but I could be wrong

But both players need to be less than or equal to the 2 players Denver is sending out.

"Salaries cannot be aggregated or combined to trade for a single player making more money." As long as Denver isn't taking back more money in the deal they can still do a 2 for 2 trade, even if the one of the other players is a minimum type deal. It just can't be a situation where you trade 3 or 2 players for 1.

The word on the street is that the Jazz already have a trade lined up for Clarkson if they want to pull the trigger on it. Both sides think he's probably done in Utah.

I still think that Jazz can combine Collins+Clarkson for Lavine.

Does the street have the name of the team(s) that want to make Jordan Clarkson their first move of the off-season? Because that's what your word has to be saying.
That would surprise me. Them being able to move him doesn't, but a deal essentially already done just waiting on Utah and not the other team definitely does. I would it much more likely that Utah would do it today and the other is like look if we can't get this other thing done we might circle back to this framework we've discussed.
He's just not a final piece, solve my off-season kind of player.

I think this makes sense for both teams.

Clarkson makes too much to fit into the “give DJJ the MLE theme”. So hope the street is right.
Think Utah should keep more than 20 million for Lauri. Every few million at that point should save a million off future years, and that shouldn’t be passed on over what Dallas would pay for Clarkson.
