DEN/DET/NYK - If MPJ's Gotta Go

Denver in: Bojan Bogdanovic, Isaiah Stewart
Denver out: Michael Porter Jr., Zeke Nnaji

Denver clears long-term salary and gets two guys who can contribute immediately. Stewart is a huge upgrade in the third big role and Bogs can replicate MPJ's role to an extent.

Jokic/Stewart
Gordon/Stewart
Bogdanovic/Watson
KCP/Braun
Murray/Jackson

New York in: Jaden Ivey
New York out: Bojan Bogdanovic

New York clears space to re-sign OG without going into the tax and takes a flier on an athletic scoring guard who could develop into a valuable bench scorer.

Hartenstein/Robinson
Randle
OG/Hart
DDV/Ivey
Brunson/McBride

Detroit in: Michael Porter Jr., Zeke Nnaji
Detroit out: Isaiah Stewart, Jaden Ivey

Detroit uses their cap space to get an elite 3pt shooter with size who can open the floor and draw defenses' attention to facilitate the development of Cade/Ausar/Duren/#5 pick. Nnaji may still be able to develop into a useful big.

Duren/Metu
Porter Jr./Nnaji
Ausar/Fonteccio
Grimes/Brown Jr.
Cade/Sasser

This is far too good for Denver and New York.

I think New York needs to include #24 here.
I think Denver needs to include #28 here.

I think it is still light for Detroit, but closer in value.

Pretty sure Knicks take this and run

It took MPJ multiple years to truly embrace his role, and from what I have gathered, he has only embraced the role because the team is winning Championship(s). It is very likely he goes to Detroit and develops a "Get out of my way, I can't win with these cats" mentality.

Nice try. As a Pistons fan I’m seeing two starters being traded away, and absorbing $15-20M in cap space. We do need shooting help for sure, but I think there are cheaper ways to do this.

Pistons have $60M in cap space. They should be able to get shooters without giving up assets as well. Also, other cap strapped teams will come calling, so there could easily be better deals to be had. I just hope the Pistons are patient and don’t take the first offer.

Bojan is 35 years old nearing retirement. He played in 59 and 57 games last 2 seasons. With that in mind this trade looks more like this

Denver in: Bojan Bogdanovic, Isaiah Stewart
Denver out: Michael Porter Jr., Zeke Nnaji

No. But something like Zeke Nnaji/Reggie Jackson + #28 for Isaiah Stewart may work. Problem is Stewart's 15.000.000 per year for backup center in the era of new CBA doesn't look good.

Agreed that the OP is out of whack, especially the Knicks part. We got to see what Bojan was worth last deadline and it was less than even a sell low on Ivey, imo.

Pretty sure Stew has a big poison pill for any team that receives him too. What about Duren for MPJ straight up?

If Detroit is willing to trade Ivey and Beef Stew for MPJ and his huge contract plus another dead weight contract, the Wizards would happily jump in and offer Kuzma (who costs half as much) for just Ivey.

Swing and a miss. Good feedback all.
