BRK—UTA, two players + three picks

With the recent reports out of Brooklyn that they're moving towards a long term rebuild and out of Utah that there is ownership pressure to speed up their timetable, this proposal looks to accommodate both.
Nets trade:
Mikal Bridges
Jazz trade:
Jordan Clarkson
2024 FRP (#10)
2026 FRP (best of Utah (if 1-10), CLE, and MIN)
2027 FRP (LAL, if 5-30)
Nets cut $20MM in salary over the next two seasons and replenish their depleted picks. Jazz get the wing they covet.

I can't imagine this to be the best offer they get for Bridges. Utah doesn't own CLE or MINN's 2026 1st either.

The rationale of cutting salary for the Nets when they trade a player who is considered to be underpaid is an interesting way of phrasing a deal.

Because cutting salary isn't also a benefit? The picks are the lions share of the value.

They own the swap rights with CLE & MIN and will receive the best of the three — which is what is included in the proposal.

We own swap options in 2026, it is whatever 2026 pick would convey to us.
I agree, though, this really is a bad offer for Bridges.

I would outright decline this if I were running the Nets.
Just not enough upside to move Bridges.
I’m not really interested in anything Utah has outside of maybe that LA 1st. The other picks belong to playoff teams with young stars locked up long term.

I do not think Utah would consider this out loud. They would ruin the relationship with BK if they ever offered this. This would set back relations between the two teams for multiple decades if they offered such a poor offer to BK.

Usually to get an elite/really good piece you have to give up something that hurts. Nothing utah is giving up will keep Ainge up at night. This is a case of having your cake and eating it too.
