Draft day trade here. Thought I'd throw it out for feeback.

Knicks
#24 + #25
for
#14
Knicks move up in the draft to pick up a better player. I'm assuming Knicks would be targeting the front court and would zero in on Miissi or Ware.

Pels
#21
for
#24 + Reath
Pels are in a weird spot in this draft regarding projected players being available. They decide to take a playable C on a minimum contract with an outside shot (Reath) in exchange for moving down a few spots. I'm assuming Pels would be targeting either PG or a C who can spread the floor. This trade allows them to do both and pick up Carrington or McCain if available. If not, Kolek or KJ Simpson should be available.

Blazers
#14 + Reath
for
#21 + #25
Blazers move down in the draft to be able to pick up better fitting targets. I'm assuming Blazers would be targeting talent in general. At #21, Holmes or Edey would be good fits. At #25, Dadiet or Furphy would be good fits.

Thoughts?

Do blazers really want to have 5 picks

Yeah this feels like exactly the opposite of what Portland would be looking to do with the draft. I'd expect that they try (though may not succeed) to package picks to move up. They feel like the last team to want lower but more picks.

Draft after the first 10-11 picks is essentially flat but with picks at 14, 34, 40 I could easily see them
packaging 34, 40 for a mid 20's pick, allowing Portland to get who they might want in the later part
of round 1.

Second apron teams like Phoenix might like to trade for cheaper depth pieces without the guaranteed
money that a FRP brings

I’m in. This totally fits my thread of going for Holmes in the 20s, and I’m intrigued to see if Edey can translate to the NBA.

I think if they make a move like this, then they stick with the 3 firsts and then find a team to take 34+40 for a future 2nd.

historically 34 and 40 brings you to maybe pick 29-31 only. will need to add future seconds to go up higher.
i think utah will try to package 29 and 32 to move up too. NYK may also package 24 and their 2nd to move up

I don’t Knicks need to move up to get one of the centers. I see at least one falling to them.

Likely but Phoenix being a second apron team needs depth players that they can perhaps draft at 34,40

This is an atypical draft for the guys at 22 are going to be similar to the guys at 34, 40. It then comes down
to a team perhaps wanting a specific player
