Charlotte trade: Martin, Williams, Bertans (5.25 mil guaranteed, to be waived)
Chicago trade: Lavine

Why for Charlotte: make a big splash to try and win games. contract comes off the books before miller needs to be re-upped
Why for Chicago: Salary dump lavine to avoid the tax when they resign derozan and patrick williams

add seconds as needed...

Vuc
Williams
Williams
Derozan
White

Williams
Bridges
Miller
Lavine
Ball

If we lose Bridges in FA maybe I could see this happening because we would definitely need another scorer if Bridges leaves the team.

If we keep Bridges then no I wouldn't do this deal.

I assume this is Grant Williams.

No interest in Lavine. I'd rather keep Mark Williams

I'd do it, as a Bulls' fan. Add some depth and save $

I think it makes A LOT of sense for Char too-Lavine adds much needed scoring to their lineup

You should be able to tell by the rotations posted in OP.

I'm hoping the Bulls can do better than this, even though I'm not sure if they can. One reason why I'd say no to this offer is that I'm not big on Grant Williams and he has three more years on his contract.

The other part of this trade...saving money....is nice, but if all the Bulls do with it is use it to re-sign DDR/Patrick Williams then I'm not interested. They should be able to re-sign them without having to do this, but even if they can't it's time to move on from DDR and go in a new direction.

I like the team the Hornets have left...who would you be drafting...a combo guard like Castle?maybe Shepard? forward depth at C.Williams/Buzelis?

Charlotte should trade for a star this offseason and start trying to win, but Lavine would be the last resort IMO

That said, this trade isn't bad but I don't know where Bridges fits with the other four

There're a lot of injury woes in that teams future. LaMelo, Zach, Mark... throw in law issues for Miles... and a complete disregard of defense. They might be fun though.

I think this team is really fun, and could easily sneak into the playoffs
Ball
Lavine
Miller
Bridges
Williams
Plus Thor, Richards, Smith Jr, Micic and the #6 on the bench

Char can't keep sucking and really needs shooting. Lots of pressure for Williams to anchor the D, but a fun team

Bulls add 2 bench pieces with Martin and Williams. Any way they can get a second round pick or two? #42 would help make this deal work

No interest in Lavine. A guy owed that much money and only played 25 games last year is to scary. Would have to see him play a full season of games before considering it. I think it is more likely he is dealing with a chronic injury though and will never be right.

I don't see the Bulls settling for so little. If they did this it makes no sense to resign DeRozan who is a win now before he turns 36 years old because Grant Williams may start but his stats aren't an upgrade from what the Bulls have gotten from Patrick Williams, Alex Caruso and Javonte Green at the 4.

I also don't imagine CHA thinking Ball, a resigned Bridges and Lavine make for a surprising jump in wins or helping Miller and Williams be bigger contributors.

I don't really like it for either, but I mean that's Zach LaVine for you. I think this is actually a pretty good look at what a LaVine deal looks like and Charlotte is probably the most likely destination unless a desperate Lakers team talks themselves into him.

Depends on what we do with Bridges.

If he walks in FA then yeah we might be the favorites. If not I just don't see a fit with Bridges returning. That's a lot of scoring and no defense.

Only one basketball.

Miles has averaged 20. LaMelo has averaged 20. Miller looks like a primary scorer and averaged 17 as a rookie. I think these 3 are fine as scoring options 1-2-3, providing enough firepower so that you're paying a boatload to LaVine for a marginal uptick in overall scoring. And you're paying Miles way too much money to be your 4th option.

Grant Williams is also captain of the defense and clubhouse leader. Martin is best perimeter defender on the team.

Borh players hold positive value on their small contracts. LaVine s massive deal holds neutral value at best.

Pass.

I don't want to rule out all trades between them because the Bulls are rumored to want to move up for Donovan Clingan who could fall to 6 where Charlotte already has Mark Williams.

I consider Clingan as a top-3 talent. So I'd charge a premium to Chicago on top of pick 11.

I don't think anyone has Grant Williams as a positive value contract. I think a big reason the Hornets got the pick they did for PJ is Mavs realized they made a mistake by signing him to that deal.

Someone is the captain of the defense, doesn't make them a positive value player.

Really?

Because he had his best overall year in the nba last year. His contract is small. After coming to the Hornets he averaged 14 pts on 62% true shooting in the last 29 games. Seems like a good deal for 14 mil per year or whatever.

A lot was made about him not playing well in Dallas, but it wasn't that big a deviation from who he has been his whole career. You hear he didn't make his 3s but he shot 37% from 3 in Dallas.
