Rockets gain a roster spot and get an old favorite to backup Sengun. Better rim runner/rim protector.

All three teams should do this.

Nice and simple and everyone happy.

OKC can be happy with their Adams back and focus their offseason on the PF instead.

Other teams are obvious to me.

I guess it depends on what believes the on court difference is between Capela and Adams and how it relates to their money. I think the pick is owed because while similar talents Adams is coming off an injury and Clint isnt.

Think the extra $9.6M between the two evens that out without extra incentive, Landale only needs to be guaranteed for about $2.1M to make this trade work (would probably require a little more to get him to agree tho).

I've had the thought of a adams-capela swap before but figured I was just being sentimental, but I'd do this. Would be wary of adding any incentive at all though to be honest

I would say it would leave Adams in Atlanta with Londale dumped on a 3rd team with some minor incentive. Unless another cap space team wants Adams then its the exact same only with a different team.

Maybe Houston completely misread the market but Adams was just traded for a guy that expired and 3 (even if one is awful) seconds, which suggests he has positive value at that number for this year

I think without OKC the easiest version is Adams and Jock to Atlanta and Jock gets only like $4M of his deal guaranteed. He gets $4M in pocket plus the ability to get a minimum if Atlanta waives him. If he doesn't agree it kind of falls apart but I don't think any of the teams here are that desperate to make it work so they'd just move on

I’m not completely sure Capela is better than Adams for what Houston needs.

Yes a better lob threat and more agile, but Capela is also a bit undersized. Maybe it’s just me remembering his youth and he’s grown into his body as an older player, but I recall us turning to Nene when Clint couldn’t hold his own against the giants.

I think we might need more of a Nene (Adams) type as a backup for Sengun. If we wanted to go more agile we always have Smith at C with Eason or Thompson at PF.

The only exception to all of this is health, if Clint projects to be able to play significantly more games going forward, I could see us going for this.

Agreed if Adams can pass a physical. Adams vet presence would be a good thing to have in Atlanta and they get tax breathing room as a result. OKC really isn't needed here if they don't value Adams.

Rumors are that might have been something behind the scenes with Adams being a little upset here near the end. But if they are both open to a reunion I would offer Zaire/Rose/2nds for him still if that is something Atlanta would want and we haven't solved our center position yet. Point is if Adams is healthy he should be able to be spun off for minor assets and/or more money savings.
