In general terms, knowing that not all FRPs are equal, what is the difference in trade value between the two?

It's some first round picks from the Pels to the Jazz. Of course if I'm Utah and I'm dealing Lauri I'd rather get a worse player and more draft assets. So I guess it depends on what BI could get on his own then add to that to get to Markannen.

I'll say 1-2 depending on quality.

I'm right here. In a vacuum I think there is a difference of one or two picks depending on quality (say...2025 LAL 1st + protected NOP 1st?) But it only makes sense if a third team wants Ingram but not Lauri and is willing to send assets Utah wants.

Jazz would charge a minimum of 2 FRPs, and at least one of them would need to be juicy and unprotected. I tend to think the Jazz wouldn't do this deal though. If the Jazz are trading Lauri, they'll want a young prospect as a centerpiece, plus picks, rather than a vet.

Jazz should extend Lauri and give themselves 2+ years to consider trading him. There's no urgency to move Lauri. More realistically, there's urgency on the part of other teams who view him as their 'missing piece.'

Pels get the best player. And a shooter.

Utah gets 3 firsts and a swap and replacement level guy at the same position (who is a great vet to have set culture) for an expiring Lauri.

I don’t want any part of this for Sac.

The reason here - and why I voted two firsts to do this deal - is that in a vacuum the players are essentially equal at different forward spots.

But Ingram’s injury history has realistically been worse. And availability is always the best skill. So if I’m Utah, I want some extra guarantee if he’s hurt like he has been (avg 51 games a season) and isn’t available when it counts. No more because Lauri is about to cost just as much salary wise.

I like this. Any interest in expanding it to include Dyson Daniels for Keyonte George. Pelicans get a more offensive minded player with a few more years of control and UTA gets a more defensive oriented point—a priority in my eyes.

I doubt they'd be interested, and, frankly, I doubt we would, either. I'm not sure the FO has the same frustrations fans do of George. Rookie point guards are almost singularly bad unless they are the most elite of prospects, and that is especially true of 19 year old rookie point guards, and I would assume even more true of rookies forced to play it as a new position.

Yeah I’d do this no question as a Pels fan, this being BI, lakers first and nola 26 provided there was some convo with Lauri first.

Lauri is a great fit next to Z and with this year’s pick we’d have the flexibility to make another move if we wanted to or just leverage the MLE for best center available.

CJ, z, herb, Trey and Lauri has fantastic offensive potential. Dyson, hawk, Jose and Larry is a good bench and the only thing I’d really want to bolster it would be rim protector. We could try and take a flyer on another project like naji was to see if we can get another d and 3 on a minimum.

If Monte loses out on Monk (his fault for structuring that contract) and loses out on BI to start the year with Barnes/Huerter/rookie instead? Ouch.

Pels better let Ingram repair his value then trade him for all these **** packages.

Marannen is good player and would be nice fit with Zion, but he is also expiring looking to get payed. He is better shooter and rebounder but worse playmaker then Ingram. And funny thing Lauri is year older then Ingram even though most people think he is younger.
Why would he be more valuable then Ingram at all, let alone 2-3 1st rounders more valuable...
