I don't think anyone is bidding for Brown, so the idea of listing teams into categories of bidders is a weird angle.

I think a team could turn to Brown as a last resort to cut salary or, if Masai is aggressive enough, sneaking into a deal as a 3-team to take on worse salary and get value.

So, for example, let's say Dejounte Murray is sent to New Orleans for C.J. McCollum + Picks(s). Toronto could try and sneak-in and take McCollum with small incentive and send Brown to Atlanta, where his fit makes good sense.

Sounds like the team might pick up his option and operate over the cap per recent reporting from local writers

Herro or CJ McCollum make some sense, but the teams need to be willing to do it straight up.

People on here think we can do better w/ 29M capspace isntead of Brown i guess. The wild card is GTJ. If we bring him back then we might as well pickup brown's option

Yeah I went too far.

I think they should decline it, but if they want to stay over the cap, it really doesn't matter to them if he's overpaid. I still don't believe him to be a trade asset.

Oh if they pay Trent and keep Brown, yeah I'm going to hate it lol. Unless the Trent deal is just one year then its underwhelming and they lose their chance at cap space, but not the end of the world really.

I still like Godaddycurse's trade to Charlotte for Cody Martin and Bertan's with just enough money GTD to make it work with a few 2nds with some minor protections like top 38. This is if Charlotte is operating over the cap as well. Charlotte doesn't have to just eat Bertans' GTD and turn Cody and some 10 million in into a better player for some 2nds.

I don't see GS really interested in turning Wiggins into him, Wiggins really needs to bounce back for GS to have a chance, and a bounced back Wiggins is a superior player than Brown.

I think Huerter and him are in the same rough tier of players but if Sac wanted turn Huerter/Vezenkov/2nds into Brown I think that would be fine trade for them. Does Toronto really want the extra year of salary for just some marginal 2nds?

Yeah the timing of IQ and Barnes really stinks. IF you didn't have to pay IQ this year, you could look to move Poeltl and Barrett in deals that bring back expirings and try free agency next year. But now its either try it this year or forgo it altogether.

I think I'd try it because I don't think losing GTJ/Brown matters at all and maybe you add a piece that fits the core, but maybe they just do that via trade instead.
