Don’t show this to my fellow Wolves fans…Best Naz Reid offers?

So Minnesota realistically has one more year with Reid before he likely opts out and gets a decent raise which may or may not be affordable. They could also really use a creating/scoring guard or wing and Naz is a very tradeable contract to kinda find that guy.
What is your best offer for Reid? Note: Minnesota is likely a 2nd apron team and as such cannot combine salaries (I.e no Naz+Jaden McDaniels) and cannot take back more money in a trade. It has to be less than or equal to Naz’s contract (or technically two trades if they’re both legal).
My pipe dream remains Coby White (add in whatever pick swaps and this year’s first) but realistically he’s not attainable.

Any interest in Cole Anthony?

Minnesota needs to take back < 6.4 Million to stay under the 2nd Apron.
Otherwise, the team isn't just going to downgrade in talent, though I do see OP insisting otherwise.

I wouldn’t say I’m advocating to downgrade but moreso reshuffling talent and/or trying to get someone locked up long term for the sake of affordability.
In regards to Cole Anthony, I would want a good bit of value coming back with him and it probably kills the deal for both sides.

is staying under the 2nd apron a mandate? Ayo Dosunmu? He makes 7 mil, you can swap moore for a min salary elsewhere to get there

You should go to Spotrac and look at cap hits less than Reid for 2024-2025. Then, try and find one who is locked-up long-term.
Rarely do players sign for < Reid's salary on a long-term deal. So, then you are looking at rookie scale contracts, which can be broken into 3 groups.
1) Rookie Scale Contracts of players with on-court value similar to Reid >>> More value than Reid
2) Rookie Scale Contracts of players with on-court value less than Reid and 2-3 years left >>> Why is that team trading these players for an expiring Reid and if they are, why is Minnesota trading for a questionable player who may not play?
3) Rookie Scale Contract of players with 1 year left and similar on-court value >>> Same situation as Reid
Trading Reid alone is a difficult exercise. The best bet is trading him for either an expiring or finding an "upside" play with 2 years left on their deal and a pick.
Tari Eason is an interesting candidate. Houston has a lot of wings, especially if they go wing at #3. Reid fits nicely as a floor spacer next to Sengun AND fits next to Jabari Smith Jr AND fits next to Amen Thompson.

No, but a severe downgrade in talent makes sense to avoid the 2nd Apron. You don't get noticeable worse on the court AND stay in the 2nd Apron.

Maybe No. 20 and a TPE if the Cavs can trade Niang and seconds to the Pistons?

What about Dean Wade and #20?

No way MIN trades him to OKC IMO but I would offer #12 and the lower of the 25 FRP.

Pacers for Nembhard? Although it seems like the Pacers want to keep/extend him

I'd much prefer Tari Eason personally, but I could get behind Whitmore.

No Brainer for the Wolves, but what is the matching salary for Indiana?

Reid for Wallace.
But man, seeing Reid starting in OKC being unlocked next to Chet, would be a hard watch as Wolves fan. Especially when Wallace would take at least a year of sitting and learning from Conley before being starter (major contributor).

I know Reid is really good, but can’t see Wallace for Nembard being available for him.

Wolves should be keeping Reid and trying to move Towns or Gobert or both.

Try and explain that. Reid has proven himself. 6th man of the year. Which means he is major contributor off bench. Nembhard proved in smaller sample size (playoffs) he can contribute off bench (Reid shined in moments during playoffs too).
So, are you thinking Reid at 24yo doesn’t have same upside as those folks? Which makes me wonder why you think you know that, and Reid’s upside (and potential as starter) is discounted for some reason (when those two get benefit of more upside).

contract status. Reid has 1 yr of cost control left then is UFA. Nembhard has 2 yrs left then UFA or 1 yr then RFA, while Wallace has 3 cheap yrs then RFA. THe latter 2 also makes way less next year.
For Indiana Nembhard is likely their starting SG so makes no sense for them to trade their starting SG for a backup. OKC positionally would make sense but Wallace's contract status is just way better/more valuable

Explain it? I imagine I’m in the wide majority here?
He’s an UFA in 12 months. The other two have really great floors and have years left of their rookie contracts, then RFA.
Nembard’s sample size is more minutes per game than Reid though. Indy will likely get Nembard on a nice semi-discount per year by letting go of his option in 2025-2027. Similar to Herb Jones. There’s only been one Boozer…
And Indy is a weird target with Turner/Pascal clearly in front of him. He’d be a great backup for them.
Presti would pay a lot. Just don’t see why he’d pay Cason. Someone else offered 12th and a future first. That’s a ton of value for an expiring “really good” player. And he’s worth it.

If Reid wouldn’t be a starter in Indy - I can see why Nembhard shouldn’t be considered.
OKC Reid would start, be in ideal role, and wouldn’t be going anywhere. He will be looking for stater role where he can be unlocked (shine). If Presti was trading for Reid, and Wolves in conference were listening, Wallace would be required.
