Embiid,Maxey(P.Reed) a lot of cap space + the Harden trade picks and some negotiable ones of your own...what would you do?

Depending if they can really sign PG. I could see them taking Demar DeRozan for less money so they can add more players. Yeah I know he doesn't stretch the floor, find 3 other guys who do. The odd move could be Zach Lavine for a pick since PHIL doesn't have players to trade.

In all seriousness, while PHI is the most attractive destination with major cap room, it really isn't the greatest FA class, and if he has to overpay for PG13 it could kill Philly's chances

Is Morey better off trying to use his cap space in trade?

I'm not sure that George is that guy anymore. A team with Embiid, Maxey, PG and very little else doesn't really feel like a contender unless they get a shocking amount of quality min salary guys.

If they're going the straight cap-space plan then DDR + another couple of solid guys seems better.

Just for point of reference, if they were to sign Paul George to the max and let go of Paul Reed, they'd have around 13M remaining in cap space and the 8M room exception to add to the roster. That 13 jumps to 16 if they were to trade their 1st.

Not saying that's a ton to build out the roster, just saying.

considering $13M is essentially the MLE, you're looking at a Luke Kennard, Bruce Brown, Gary Trent Jr, Gary Harris level player as your #4 player. We've seen teams with worse #4s than that get to the finals, but most of them had a big three better than Embiid/PG/Maxey

Especially if you only have 5 or maybe 6 guys on the roster making more than vet min money. If you can get 2022 Porter and Payton as min salary additions then it can work, but if you can't?? (especially if Embiid and PG aren't playing every day).

The majority of Sixer fans seem to be in favor of the "sign a bunch of role players on cheaper deals plan".

Names involved (assuming availability) include but not limited to D'Angelo Russell, Caldwell-Pope, Kyle Anderson, Lonnie Walker, Oubre, Trent, Batum, Horton-Tucker, Drummond. Some combo of the above.

Also there is some appetite to get paid to take bad contracts (LaVine, John Collins).

We all know Morey will take his run at PG and LeBron, and this would be after that.

I also don't think Utah will be paying to move Collins, who didn't have a terrible year. Wiggins and LaVine's deals are the ones you should target for that and even then it might be more of a you get them for a SRP or something equally minor as opposed to getting assets in addition.

Collins was alot better this yr then previously and I thin Utah would ask for stuff to move him. This is Danny Ainge we're talking about......
