Embiid,Maxey(P.Reed) a lot of cap space + the Harden trade picks and some negotiable ones of your own...what would you do?

Then sign and trade said contract to Portland for Grant

POR politely declines.

Unless you can't resist Morey's withering, dominant glare
(j/k -- at this stage Grant is better than Tobi)

Moreys doughy face is no match for the scheming Crone Dome.

If they're going the straight cap-space plan then DDR + another couple of solid guys seems better.

Just for point of reference, if they were to sign Paul George to the max and let go of Paul Reed, they'd have around 13M remaining in cap space and the 8M room exception to add to the roster. That 13 jumps to 16 if they were to trade their 1st.
Not saying that's a ton to build out the roster, just saying.

considering $13M is essentially the MLE, you're looking at a Luke Kennard, Bruce Brown, Gary Trent Jr, Gary Harris level player as your #4 player. We've seen teams with worse #4s than that get to the finals, but most of them had a big three better than Embiid/PG/Maxey

2.Then try trade for Mikal Bridges / Jimmy Butler
3. sign one of Siakam / PG13
PG: LBJ
SG: Maxey
SF: Bridges / Butler
PF: Siakam / PG13
C: Embid

Names involved (assuming availability) include but not limited to D'Angelo Russell, Caldwell-Pope, Kyle Anderson, Lonnie Walker, Oubre, Trent, Batum, Horton-Tucker, Drummond. Some combo of the above.
Also there is some appetite to get paid to take bad contracts (LaVine, John Collins).
We all know Morey will take his run at PG and LeBron, and this would be after that.

D'Angelo Russell: He has a 19 Million Option. He would cost > 20 Million AAV
Caldwell-Pope: He is looking at 20 Million AAV
Kyle Anderson: Yup, excellent fit on both sides since you really want a floor-spacing 5
Lonnie Walker: Minimum player who isn't impactful
Kelly Oubre: He had a solid season with Philly but I am still doubtful
Gary Trent Jr: Bit small next to Maxey but a nice 3+[almost]D guard
Nicolas Batum: Minimum or slightly more, still can be a poor-man's Horford
Talen Horton-Tucker: See Lonnie Walker
Andre Drummond: Regular Season minutes eater at the back-up 5 and will start 20+ games
I just don't see how you can say you want 2 of Russell/Pope/Oubre/Trent Jr rather than PG13 or LeBron and I don't see how that's a successful off-season.

Just was trying to provide the perspective for the T&T board here.
