Now I don't think Kispert returns a first on the last year of his deal, nor do I think he is a clone of a multi-time all-star and good starter, but as always if you can get it, go get it.
Appreciate your feedback that this is a hard no for you.
Kispert is a very efficient off-ball scorer, even if he is a poor defender. He has a bit more offensive utility than a mere catch-and-shoot guy like Garrison Mathews or Isaiah Joe because of his ability to put the ball on the floor and finish at the rim with extreme efficiency. His USG% isn't merely 15% like Sam Hauser, Isaiah Joe or Grayson Allen, it's almost 20% like Norman Powell or Austin Reeves.
That said, I'm not under any delusions that Kispert has extraordinary value. His defense is barely palatable and he is the type of guy who will get played off the floor in a second round series against a team with the talent to hunt him defensively. For that reason, he is a bench player. Yeah, he can start on a bad team, but not on a good team.
But a contending team in need of a 7th man might be willing to trade a pick in the late 20's for a guy like Kispert - particularly this year when his salary number is so low. Heck, the Lakers probably would consider it if they were picking 25th or so, but the 17th pick is a bit much for Kispert.
