Mavs get a 3 scorer, who should fit very well in every way (playing style, age) and (I think) they save enough, to be able to retain DJJ

Hornets charge very well for facilitating the departure of a player who I suspect does not want to be part of a long-term reconstruction and they also charge for taking on some extra money. On the court Green gives them a shooting guard/3D wing young enough to be a long-term piece that should fit perfectly between Ball/Miller and will surely provide better performance with less pressure, O-Max is a decent defensive prospect who should start to pay off this year...THJ could probably return some small asset extra on the deadline...



Why would Bridges do it? Frankly, I think it is an ideal scenario for him, if, as is assumed of a professional, he has a competitive hunger... especially if he is paid... he should push for this to happen...

I think that's a bad idea for Dallas. Bridges is a really poor defender.

The hornets need to take that offer.

No interest in Bridges at any price, specifically for the Mavs, they need guards, not forwards, I prefer to invest there.

Bridges’ contract is interesting to me.. Like I can see a team guaranteeing him 16-18 mil type on a four year deal and taking the risk to have a nice underpaid starter.. 20-22, you want at least a team option, with the max incentives included in that number.. 25+ you want a lot of unguarantee money.

But some feel he’s getting that or more guaranteed. I just think it will take another year before he gets that type of offer

For Dallas, I don’t mind the target as long as the contract is set up like that. If Charlotte or someone wants to take the risk of him on a contract his per game stats are worth - I’d rather let them.

He’d be an interesting third option here and you can always pair him with one of DJJ/PJ, so doesn’t need to be an elite defender. I don’t think he’s terrible?

The value seems pretty neutral for Charlotte, but that’s all a sign and trade really needs to be? Don’t think Charlotte would be better off with letting Bridges walk, if they want to pay him Dallas never gets a chance to negotiate the sign and trade..

That’s the bar I think teams actually use not demanding firsts, etc.

I don’t think this helps the Mavs much if at all. Bridges isn’t worth that anyway.

Though I would say if this truly allows them to keep Jones then that’s huge.

Be prepared to be stunned. He has the best agent in the game. FVF got a max last year. Bridges is in his prime and has been a 20+ppg scorer the last few years.

They declined our offer last year for a reason. Detroit is definitely going to throw him a boatload of money.

lol the days of anyone, us or otherwise getting discounted bridges in FA or trade are long gone.

Zero intrest in him. Specially with a 1st and omax involved

this is what I think should (and maybe will) happen, but that contract is definitely going to be 9 figures if it's a 4-5 year deal. Which I think Kultch rejects and gets him to sign cheaper 1-2 years, chasing a bigger deal later.

In any case, I'm expecting $25M as a baseline

Dallas isnt giving up a first and OMax for a degenerate like Miles Bridges.

Bridges is 26 in the prime of his career. When PG/Siakam/LeBron all return to their current teams you can argue Bridges will be the best available FA.

He's getting at least 30mil per year and I stand on that.

We all stand on our takes. I'm prepared to eat my crow if you are right. But you really think a lot higher of him as a player than I do and way undersell the risk he represents as a guy who has consistent trouble making wise decisions and thinking teams are going to stand by to load him up with gtd money hoping he's finally grown up.

I don't have the talent anywhere near worth the risk. He's basically Keldon Johnson with a bigger name and a whole bunch more baggage.

Rich Paul isn't magic. He can't create a market for a guy that doesn't exist. He can wait all summer and work out a S&T like he did with Sexton, but that wasn't the number Sexton wanted when the summer started.

Miles Bridges is a poor defender who has an awful lot of baggage and there really isn't as much cap space out there as people think. If Detroit's new GM won't give it to him, I think it's going to be difficult to find a team who will.
