Dort and Giddey to Rockets, & Mikal Bridges to Thunder

Post#1 » by Syko_boB » Sat Jun 8, 2024 6:27 am

OKC

Josh Giddey, Lu Dort, 25 MIA 1st, 27 DEN 1st
For
Mikal Bridges

Add a serious piece to the core thst gives them 4 true building blocks

Holmgren / Williams
Williams / Williams
Bridges
Wallace / Joe
Gilgeous-Alexander

BRK

Mikal Bridges
For
Dillon Brooks, 25 MIA 1st, 25 OKC or BRK 1st, 26 BRK 1st, 27 DEN 1st

4 1sts and the freedom to start from scratch. A deal with Houston for those picks back is the only one that makes sense

Claxton / Sharpe
Finney-Smith / Clowney
Johnson
Thomas
Simmons

HOU

Dillon Brooks, 25 OKC or BRK 1st, 26 BRK 1st
For
Josh Giddey, Lu Dort

They keep the 2027 1st swap option with the Nets, but cash in on some of those Harden deal assets and bring in a lockdown defender without the antics, and a young wing who will feed the stars and grow with them

Sengun / Adams
Smith / Whitmore / Eason
Giddey / Dort
Van Vleet / Thompson
Green

Nets aren't trading Bridges, and certainly not for this kind of return.

Dort replacing Brooks doesn't move the needle enough to warrant trading even one Brooklyn pick. Giddey might not even have a solid place on the team. We have a more athletic and better defensive version of him in Amen Thompson. Giddey has him beat in passing creativity, but teams that want to win usually don't have two rotation wings that don't shoot well.

Just take out Houston. Nothing worthwhile in that deal for them. Bridges to OKC for whatever.

Don't see Houston cashing in on those picks for a guy who makes no sense for them in Giddey and a 3&D (whose defense I think is overrated) guy. Take them out of this, if Giddey and Dort have value like that BKN would want Giddey and you can send Dort elsewhere for something else

I don't think OKC needs to involve Houston here. They love Dort and don't want to move him.

Giddey and however many picks it takes OKC to get it done for Bridges makes some sense.

Though I think OKC needs to get bigger and Bridges doesn't really help with that.

OKC can get Bridges without moving Dort.

Giddey + Dieng + 2 high value 1sts + #12
