WARRIORS
In: Lauri/Collins
Out:CP3/Moody/Kuminga +2 future FRP

The Warriors get an all-starter to pair with Curry and an overpaid but good player who fits well into their system

Curry/Podz
Wiggins/Klay
Markkanen/GP2
Green/Davis
Collins/Looney

JAZZ
In:CP3/Kuminga/Moody/2 FRP(27/29 top 5 prot)
Out: Markkanen/Collins

The Jazz take this year as a tank in the face of a loaded Draft, while adding a couple of young players and paying CP3 to be their mentor, they also add 2 potentially good selections

Protecting the picks makes this a non-starter......... That's before we get to whether this is good value for the Jazz.......

Light protection on the picks I thing GS does this.
Collins and Lauri are just entering their prime.

Collins can be a GS small ball C/PF 6th Man future Green replacement.

Markenen gives GS another shooter which they surprisingly need.

I recall Jazz wanting 5 1sts for Lauri last yr.

You’re at least 2 unprotected 1’sts short. If you’re tanking, why are they over-paying an ancient CP to mentor? Mentor who? The Jazz most likely still don’t have their PGOTF. Easy pass and many other teams would quickly offer a better package.

Easy pass for Utah.

How many picks would you say Kuminga is worth? What about an expiring CP3 for Collins? I’m not saying it’s spot on or I’d do it, but in a vacuum, the value is probably pretty close.

CP3 100% gets bought out in this scenario though.

Utah isn't trading Lauri to get off Collins, so the value is moot. Even without Lauri, Utah is not in a situation where they need to bail on Collins. The rest of the deal is pretty easily beat by multiple teams.

Unless he requests a trade, Lauri will be in Utah. I'm not sure a significant overpay would convince them to enter a long(er) term rebuild, but certainly nothing like the OP would.

If those picks are unprotected I could understand us accepting the deal, though I wouldn't. If they are protected, no.

Not including Podz in this trade is a slap in the face as well.

The picks in OP can’t be offered. GSW owes their 2030 to Washington, despite its protection..

Don’t see GSW staying under the second apron with Collins+Lauri+Wiggins? Maybe it’s possible.

I think GSW might pay the 25/27 firsts with Kuminga. But I’d rather not have Collins. TJD/Green/Lauri and an MLE big is plenty of minutes for the bigs. No reason for the Collins/Paul swap.

Think GSW gets away with some light protection on the 2027 first, but not much.

Not even close to enough so it seems this trade is DOA

I don't think GSW will be able to outbid other teams if the Jazz put Lauri on the block, but he would be the best possible outcome for this offseason. I'd do the OP's deal in a heartbeat and add as many unprotected 1sts/swaps as we can offer on top.

CP3, Kuminga, Podz, Moody, 2025 1st (UNP), 2027 1st (UNP), 26/28/31 swaps for Lauri and whatever contract Utah most wants rid of.

(edit: removed 2032 pick that can't be traded yet)

I don’t think you can send out 32 pick yet.

Pass on that no way

Incredible overpay, Lauri worth half of that

This I would do pretty easily. That would be a historic haul for an expiring second option - as great as Lauri is. Perhaps it is worth it for Golden State, it does give them a championship caliber duo, but I'm not convinced the supporting cast would be any good.
