Kings Pels (who adds)

Okay-
Guessing both sides will hate this trade but I’m proposing the outline of it because I think it would make both teams better and I’m curious who adds what…
So who adds what?
Kings Trade: Sabonis + ?
Kings Receive: Ingram (assumes Ingram signs) + ?
Why for the Kings: Kings decide Fox and Sabonis is not a pairing that will take them deep in the play-offs as Fox needs to drive and Sabonis plays around the paint. Kings decide an Ingram, Fox, Murray pairing opens up the lane for Fox and adds length to the team.
Pels Trade: Ingram
Pels Receive: Sabonis
Pels have the length at wing to surround Sabonis on Defense and the needed shooting. Sabonis slots in as a point center to run the Pels offense and is a battering ram to attack Holmgren and Wemby two teams with whom the Pels will compete.

I have Sabonis a superior player and clearly worth more. Not sure the Pels want to pair him with Zion personally, but I'd have them owing the Kings meaningful value here.
I don't like this really on any levels for the Kings, I'm sorry. Sabonis isn't perfect, but he's really good. No idea how a Fox/BI team is competitive.

I’m guessing we get a wide range of opinions on this but we shall see. People have a wide range of opinion on Sabonis.
I see Ingram and Murray as a pretty nice set of wings that open up driving lanes for Fox. Also Kings get much longer.
The fit with Zion is a concern but in West that will go through OKC and SA who do you put Wemby or Holmgren on. Sabonis and Zion are two of the strongest guys in the league.

Sabonis isn't the one leaving, he's who makes the Kings good on a base level as being 6th on nba.com mvp ladder suggests and all nba, moreso than Fox
He's way more foundational than Ingram as well

Sabonis and Zion are a really bizarre fit. I’m not sure I’d do it unless Sacramento is offering him up on a total steal of a deal (I.e. 1 for 1 with him and Ingram). If we’re just looking at value though, Sacramento is owed 2 1sts.

I wouldnt want Sabonis for free on the Pelicans. Awfull fit, and i think he is one of the most overrated players in the NBA even without fit problems.

Sabonis has more value, but this really needs a third team because he and Zion have no business sharing a front court together. The third team is probably a lottery team and that part gets tricky.

I think this is DOA. Sabonis is just an awful fit with Zion

Yeah I have to echo the consensus here. Sabonis is worth considerably more than BI, but the fit makes it not worth the price of admission for New Orleans.

Sabonis and Zion work IMO. Sabonis is able to play with a guy who wants to go the rim.
Kings would need more. Herb.
Fox/BI/Murray/Herb/defensive center

Not going to spend too much time on this as it’s mostly a thought exercise, but I think they might be a better fit than people think. Both have a power game that is hard to stop and I don’t think any team could match up with them. Zion getting better at 3 point shots would certainly help but Sabonis on a dribble handoff would also create enormous challenges.

List me as someone who thinks Zion and Sabonis would/could work. Both guys are powerful and tough to stop and they would work out a way on offense. In fact I think that's part of Sacramento's offensive struggles this season, once they went away from run and gun and let it fly, there is no one that can score inside other than Sabonis/Fox and the latter didn't drive as much after his hot start to the season.
Defensively the Pels have terrific perimeter D to complement that duo. Sabonis is a decent man defender, he just doesn't protect the rim and I think that hurts his "reputation" with people.

NO's value Herb after Zion, he's close to untouchable in trade for more reasons than just player value. Due to his low usage & role his value in trade is not what it should be. NO's would be selling very low to what Herb actually provides.
Ask any NO's fan, they will all tell you Herb is the player of the 2 mentioned everyone would keep. He's not getting traded short of getting a corner stone back in that trade. He's the teams defensive backbone & is shooting 40% on good volume. He's not & never will be, a throw in to trade as far as NO's are concerned.

Not that this would ever happen.
But in a vacuum, Pels add Herb, Daniel’s and the Lakers ‘25 pick and their own unprotected pick.
Let’s get this straight without personal ideas here. Any player that is top ten on the MVP ladder sees a haul like this. That’s just how it’s been going.

I don't value Sabonis this much over BI. Especially considering the fit with Zion.

So where is BI on that ladder?
And how many games a year does he average again?
Personally I have zero interest in him in any scenario. I value guys who can play and who aren’t faux “stars” with forever potential that isn’t realized. He is not a guy who can carry our team or make everyone else better.

Hate to burst you or any Kings fans bubble, but if and when the Kings decide to trade Sabonis we aren't getting a package that looks like this. At least I would be very surprised if we do

Not asking for him as a throw-in. Valuing him about equal to two firsts. NO is getting a corner stone piece back.

Fundamentally broken for both teams. Not the right pairing with Zion, and BI isn't the guy you build around.

No way Herb would be included. He is on a fantastic contract and is 1st team Defensive All NBA.
