Chucksanity with Washington
Dallas Out: Tim Hardaway Jr, Daniel Gafford, 2025 DAL 1st (Unprotected), 2025 TOR 2nd
Dallas In: Kyle Kuzma
Oklahoma City Out: 2025 MIA 1st, Kenrich Williams
Oklahoma City In: Daniel Gafford
Washington Out: Kyle Kuzma
Washington In: Tim Hardaway Jr, Kenrich Williams, 2025 DAL 1st (Unprotected), 2025 MIA 1st, 2025 TOR 2nd
Dallas gets wingy-with-it and adds Kyle Kuzma and retains DJJ by clearing cap. Adds someone like Biyombo or Len, maybe even has enough for close to the full MLE?
Oklahoma City gets Gafford for one of their 2025 1sts.
Washington adds 2 future 1sts for Kuzma (They already have 2 1sts in this draft), some expiring filler in THJ and a good 2nd.

Putrid for Dallas. Getting wingy with it is catchy, but trading Gaff and a first for an empty stats loser like Kyle Kuzma is a terrible plan
I guess now that Dallas is showing signs that they cant handle Bos and the series is over, we're going to keep getting these types of trades

Mavs fans are very salty when it comes to Kuzma so good luck having them agree to a trade like this even though it would make the Mavs better. THJ stinks. And I don't think the Thhunder would trade that Miami first for Gafford.

Didn't Kuzma play a pivotal role as a wing for a title team?
You seem to somehow have some emotional hatred towards Kuzma, but I think you need to take off your hater-glasses and realize who and what Kyle Kuzma is and has been in the past.

Trades that make Dallas better? Yeah, I do it for all 30 teams

Nah, just one guy apparently.
THJ stinks.
He is expiring salary filler who can also provide spacing for Washington. His level of play isn't relevant, but it isn't like he is a Davis Bertans level player [12th man]. He would actually be semi-useful for a Washington team, but make no mistake about it, he is salary filler.
And I don't think the Thhunder would trade that Miami first for Gafford.
They could give up a lesser 1st then

Yea ignore the fact that they had the 2nd best player of all time, Anthony Davis, and it was won in a bubble.
Kyle Kuzma sucks, he's a chucker, a me first stats guy who cares more about his numbers than wins. Couldnt care less if the rumored report about him declining Dallas, I live in Maryland and watch every Wiz game, he sucks. He's a taller Jordan Poole.

Okay? And now he is with Luka Doncic, Kyrie Irving, Derrick Lively II, a slough of other 3+D wings [P.J. Washington, DJJ, Green].
Plus, the Bubble was a hard title to win. Lakers didn't have HCA even though they were the #1 seed. They had to live in a freaking hotel/resort for over a month(s). The idea that the bubble was some easy feat is always a baffling take to me.

Nah, he isn't. But keep believing that! Why are you such a curmudgeon? Didn't buy any Gamestop over the past 4 years?

In case you missed the obvious, I wasnt calling Ad the 2nd best, i said they had Lebron and AD, and yeah it was in a bubble

Bill Russell does have a good argument over LeBron at #1

Funny how you're always one of the first to blast people for bad trades, but cant take it when you post an atrocious one. This is trade is putrid, Kyle Kuzma stinks. if you like him so much, wish for your team to trade for him.

This is such a goofy take. Kuzma stinks, yet Dallas was desperately trying to trade for him, he blocked it, and the Mavs settled for PJ Washington. Apparently, the Dallas FO disagrees with you.

The difference here is you are being unfairly negative about Kyle Kuzma. This isn't some "3 1sts for Bruce Brown" trade, which rightfully deserves to be blasted.
I would love Kyle Kuzma in Minnesota. The problem is it would require a decrease in Talent level due to the salary structure of the players on the Timberwolves. But mark my words rubbage, I would entertain Kuzma joining the Wolves for Naz Reid, $15 Million expiring player [We don't have a THJ on our books] and #27

And that means what? The Mavs also gave a league minimum player Josh Green a 3 year 41 mil contract, THJ a big contract, let Brunson walk for nothing, whats your point? They have their flaws, more so than many of the top teams in the association. We lucked out a deal didnt happen. Sure Dal will lose this series in a matter of days, but at least they got there. If they traded for Kuzma, probably would have been out during the play-in.
There's not a world where Kuzma is worth 2 FRP, especially any that are unprotected.

I think I just take Kenrich and the first here. That opens up DJJ money or Dallas can go shopping with THJ, 3 firsts, Prosper/second…
Kuz salary looks a lot bigger once he’s on a winning team and the trade kicker.. Washington lays the kicker but it’s on Dallas’ cap sheet right? And he has 3 million unlikely incentives, that we don’t really know what they are but they are “team based” .. So decent chance at least some of them hit.. Kuzma needs to stay on a bad team for another year or two to be really be a bargain contract..

I don't think Kuzma improves their odds against a team like Celtics. Most well coached teams are going to live with Kuzma trying to beat them - especially if he's taking shots away from Luka and Kyrie in the process.

The idea is getting someone other than Luka and Kyrie who CAN take shots. Hard to remember a frontline so offensively limited in the finals.
Comments to rationalize bad contracts -
1) It's less than the MLE
2) He can be traded later
3) It's only __% of the cap
4) The cap is going up
5) It's only __ years
6) He's a good mentor/locker room guy

Re: Chucksanity with Washington
I think OKC is coming up short here. Gafford is a nice energy big, but he, PJ, and Lively all blossoming wasn't a coincidence. Bigs who can play those roles with Luka and Kyrie aren't tough to come by.

I don't actually hate Kuzma as an option for Dallas, but it shouldn't be at the expense of Gafford and a 1st.
THJ, Powell, 1st should cover it imo. No need to enrich OKC in the process.

Well if this is the deal then Dallas becomes a Tax Team AND can't resign DJJ.
So it becomes Tax Team, DJJ, THJ, Powell, 1st for Kuzma
