Kuzma/Caruso/17th?

Wasn’t sure who the right third team was? Maybe NYK fits better as they own the Washington pick and can add another asset? Or some other team?

Washington: Kuzma
Washington: Ball, Vincent, 17th, Portland first

Washington gets a mid first and a future maybe first for Kuzma by taking on some bad short term salary.

Chicago: Ball, Caruso, Portland first
Chicago: Kuzma

Chicago gets a starting PF locked up on an affordable contract. They’re not willing to blow it up, but they at least keep their lottery pick here while they shoot for the play-in.

LAL: Vincent and 17th
LAL: Caruso

LAL gets the player they lost back. No idea if they owe more or not. But maybe.

Sure, this all makes sense from a value perspective.

Washington probably needs more in order to part from Kuzma and they are somewhat light in the front-court [notable at the Wing position].

Yeah, I think LAL and Chicago both owe a littke.

Neither owe an entire first though? More so LAL than Chicago, but maybe 2 seconds from LAL and one from Chicago?

Feel like enough?

I originally had it with 11th to Washington and 17th to Chicago. No Portland first involved and it seemed clean enough. But wanted to keep the lottery pick in Chicago.

I think this is a decent return for Washington. The Portland pick may never convey, and I think that's the only hangup.

Would a stack of 2nds sway it?

JHS? Chicago has Terry and Phillips as not so exciting forward prospects, though at that point I think you just find your own long shot prospect..

I do agree it’s not the most exciting return, but feels close enough. Portland will have a very nice young core after the 2025 draft as long as the lottery is nicer to them next season, but there is no guarantee they can get to the playoffs in the following three years.

I don't think you can say WASH should get more because you know you're sending them an expiring $20M may not play Lonzo Ball. He and his contract are the biggest thing CHI is giving up to swing this. If the Wiz wants more for Kuzma, find another partner. The Lakers get Caruso to try to win now, it's their hard luck he's expiring, they could have made a deadline offer.

If WASH is looking let them find a deal with PORT to return their pick, it's looking more and more like the Blazers are the only ones who could use that pick.

The Bulls are taking the 3 years of WASH 2nd highest paid player so they can save while rebuilding. Now the Bulls still have to move Lavine and likely move on from DeRozan rather than resign him for big money, so this is an intermediate deal not the final move. The Bulls have to make the next two moves work in conjunction with this one which limits their options

I can see Kuzma and Patrick Williams at the 4-3 with Torrey Craig and Julian Phillips behind them and not be unhappy.

Why would Chicago want Kuzma especially while letting a good defender go.

White/LaVine/DD/Kuz/Vuc who is playing any resemblance of defense for them? All 5 of them are terrible defenders, and they don't even fit well on offense.

The value is probably correct because of the dead weight involved in the trade but the fit is disgusting for Chicago. I'd love for them to do it, Detroit wouldn't be the worst team in the league anymore.

The Bulls have plenty of simple stat stuffers that don’t win games. Getting another one of those may push them to the top of the lottery, so I guess that’s a good thing.

Not a bad trade and i sorta wish the Hawks could have gotten in there on that Caruso trade lol. Maybe something like Sac 1st next year + a player.

This is a pretty fair trade. I think the Lakers might be getting the better end of it though. They should probably throw in an extra SRP to the Wizards.

The Wizards wanted two FRP's for Kuzma. In this deal, they get one sure-fire FRP, one SRP (if the Lakers add that one as I suggested), and one more pick that will either be a FRP or a SRP. That's close enough.

Washington: Kuzma
Washington: Ball, Vincent, 17th, Portland first

Washington gets a mid first and a future maybe first for Kuzma by taking on some bad short term salary.

Chicago: Ball, Caruso, Portland first
Chicago: Kuzma

Chicago gets a starting PF locked up on an affordable contract. They’re not willing to blow it up, but they at least keep their lottery pick here while they shoot for the play-in.

LAL: Vincent and 17th
LAL: Caruso

LAL gets the player they lost back. No idea if they owe more or not. But maybe.

What is the PORT pick? Year? Protection?

Top 14 for the next 5 drafts.

Thanks. Two thoughts. I hate protections and I think WASH asks for more especially taking bad contract
