OKC trades: Josh Giddey, Ousmane Dieng, 2024 HOU 1st (12), 2025 PHI 1st (1-4 protected through 2027, otherwise 2027 2nd), 2027 DEN 1st (1-5 protected through 2029, otherwise 2029 2nd)

WAS trades: Richaun Holmes, 2024 WAS 1st (2)

The Thunder get one of Rissacher/Sarr to fit into their core. I think either is a pretty seamless fit on the team and adds something OKC can use. Sarr is a switchy/stretchy 5 a la Chet Holmgren and would create a pretty monstrous frontcourt moving forward, Rissacher would be a seamless fit in the starting lineup with SGA/Williams as an off-ball movement shooter and high-effort defender. Holmes could also play some as the kind of physical center they needed in spot minutes.

Washington gets a big point guard who can help manage their team + a recent lottery pick + a later lottery pick + several future picks. I do think there is a material difference between the top 2 in this draft and 3-12, I could see a team saying they only love one of Sarr/Rissacher and deciding to make a move for assets if their guy is gone.

I tend to think that OKC should look more toward win-now players than guys like Risacher or Sarr with their assets. Neither of these guys are really guaranteed to be impact players from the jump, and that's what OKC needs more than anything.

They have their young core, now you put more established players around them and go for it while those core players are still on cheap contracts. They need their Jrue and Porzingis moves. Don't wait 2-3 more years for someone like Sarr or Risacher to actually develop, at which point you'll be struggling to keep all of these pieces together.

Feels like a poor fit both ways. OKC should be looking for at least somewhat more win-now help while Washington shouldn't be diluting top assets.

As tempting as it is, OKC should really use those assets on someone who can contribute next season.

I don’t like it for Washington unless they love someone at 12 and he is available when OKC is on the clock. The rest of that package is mid.

I don't think OKC should have to take back Holmes. Having him on the roster doesn't cost Washington anything. But OKC can make better use of the space. If you feel Washington needs a touch more value, OKC can send a couple 2nds.

And OKC can do this and add a veteran or two. So I have no issues with them trading up if they love a guy.

For Washington, its just do they believe in a guy or not. If not, sure go get a pile of stuff. If so, don't get cute and just take your guy.

OKC should add a few more picks and swap in receiving Kuzma instead if Holmes with the #2 pick.

I would do this from Washington's perspective. I'm not a big fan of Giddey, but he is only 21. Getting him plus two FRP's to move down from #2 to #12 is a pretty good deal. I'm not sold on anyone in the top 2 being a sure-fire star anyhow. I don't think the upside odds of someone like Holland or Collier taken at #12 are THAT much worse than the upside odds of Sarr or Risacher at #2.

I'm particularly intrigued by that Philly pick. Philly is always an Embiid injury away from being horrible, so that pick could be fairly high.

I'd like it more if OKC kept Giddey and gave up another FRP in his place. I'm not sure if that's something that interests OKC or not. Either way, I'd do it.
