Sac/Det/Mke/Utah

Trade 1:
Mke: top 55 protected 2nd
Det: Marjon
Trade 2:
Mke in: Stewart, Davion, 32
Mke out: Bobby, Pat, 23
Sac in: Portis, 29
Sac out: Davion, 13
Det in: Pat, 13
Det out: Stewart
Utah in: 23
Utah out: 29, 32
Why?
Detroit gets a young wing on a rookie deal, a vet role player, and another crack at it in the lottery.
Sacramento gets a proven floor spacing big who’s hit 40% of his threes over the last 4 years, and they still have a first in the draft.
Utah consolidates a couple picks to move up.
The bucks get a different sort of big to pair with Giannis, a POA defender, and move out of the first to save money.

Seems terrible for Milwaukee.
Terrible for Sacramento.
Way too good for Detroit.
Great for Utah.
You need to include send and receive for these types of trades with draft picks though. Most people don't memorize what each team currently controls.

Sac would likely take this deal. They get a 4/5 they need, they don’t have to figure out Davion’s worth and they just move back in a crapshoot of a draft in which the odds of the best player being 10, 20, 30, 40 are not far apart.

I think Utah would trade 29 and 32 to move into that range (Bucks or Knicks). I don't see why that deal would be tied to anything else though.

If the value is off for those teams. Sacramento could keep Davion, and send vezenkov to Detroit. Detroit sends grimes to Milwaukee with a future second.

Milwaukee downgrades every player and their picks, don't see that happening.

I don’t see how this is too good for Detroit. What is the value of Marjon and #13 in a weak draft? That’s the bonus for trading Stewart for Connaughton? I’d rather keep Stewart and get a free agent like Monk or one of the lesser SGs.

From Detroit's perspective this trade might be considered in another draft year, but in this particular draft Stewart easily has more value to us. Beauchamp and Connaughton don't really make up that difference.

No confidence in finding a Stewart level player at #13 in this draft, and I value a 23 year old big that can shoot 3's, defend, and rebound higher than a comparable player at a different position, so I would pass.
I'm sure you'll find some Pistons fans that would go for it though. Who knows with Trajan Langdon.

I would tweak a little bit for Detroit. If the Knicks were interested in give our pick back for #13 and both players we're getting agree to leave the minimum on the table and accept a buyout I would do it.

I'm not totally against moving Beefstew but if we did, I'd want to do so for something that moved the needle more than this. This feels like fair value, just not fair value that takes us forward in any significant way.

I'd do this as a Kings fan. Not sold on any player at 13 in this draft and as much as I love Davion, he's just too limited as a player

I can't believe Detroit would be interested in trading a late lottery pick for one that is never going to convey, anyway.

That would undo the 2020 draft
Also I don't think Detroit need any more unimpressive young players so #13 doesn't have value to Detroit. The hability to trade picks without restriction to a new FO might have more value than #13, and that pick might convey into something better than #13 in the future.

I don't think you want to give your team the ability to trade away your own picks tbh. Also this draft is bad up top, but I think the 10-20 range is slightly above average compared to the same range in most years. Detroit could get a good player or someone who slips. E.g. Tristan da Silva would give a lot of shooting and playmaking, and I think his year 1 impact will be greater than most lottery players if he gets minutes. He'd also be a wonderful fit for a team that needs both shooting and intelligent playmaking.

Why? Troy Weaver got fired. Sure he was only part of the problem, Arn Tellem is still there and have a lot of influence but at least I can have some hope now.
We have too many young players. We need legit stabilished veteran players in our rotation.

Sign them. Trade for guys that are fine rotation players on bad contracts, etc. If this team trades a lottery pick - I'd even be afraid if they traded more than a few seconds - to open up the possibility of trading their own picks when they are this bad, that's a sign that they have just as bad of a front office as before.
Sign Tobias Harris, trade for Tim Hardaway Jr., John Collins, etc. Don't trade your picks to go from one of the worst 3 teams in the league to the worst 10, because that is what this would portend. If you can get the 13th pick for Stewart, do it, and draft someone who fits. Or, if Stewart's spacing is more valuable to the organization than Duren's potential, trade Duren for a pick or young player that fits. But don't hope to trade good assets for the chance to have your entire future as an organization decimated by another moron.
I have SOME hope Langden might be better, but having this level of confidence given what a mess New Orleans is seems ... optimistic.

You lost me on Tim Hardaway Jr and John Collins. I am sorry but I stop reading there.

They are "legit, established veterans" who wouldn't cost assets to get.
