Does Brooklyn want a draft pick?

Post#1 » by brackdan70 » Fri Jun 14, 2024 4:45 pm

They have no picks in this years draft? Would they want to trade into the draft?
Would Noah Clowny be on the table for that and if so what pick would it cost?

I don’t think Noah Clowney is on the table for anything reasonable. He was super impressive for Brooklyn down the stretch.

I can see them moving Cam Johnson, DFS, Dayron Sharpe and/or Dennis Shroder to get into the draft.

If I were them I’d be targeting Sacramento at #13, Cleveland at #20 and Milwaukee at #23

Marks isn't going to try to trade into the draft just for the sake of getting into the draft. He likely has a couple players at a price point (salary slot & traded player value) that he would target. He's always said, he targets players not picks.

The Nets seem really high on Clowney. They're not going to deal him to get into this draft.

Something around Zake Nnaji + #28 for Dayron Sharpe. Does this make sense as a starter?

I don’t see it.

Nets want to keep their cap clean and Sharpe is a better player so #28 isn’t enough to make this work.

What about Reggie Jackson (1 year $5.2) + #28 for Dayron Sharpe + 2025 Miami 2nd and 2026 Nets 2nd?

Probably but if they get one it will likely be for someone like DFS.

Seems a little pricey for #28 in a bad draft.

It would have to depend on who’s available and it will look more like Dayron + cash if Brooklyn decides to go in a different direction at backup C.

Well, there is a really small chance backup C will bring back 1st round pick (even #28th in a bad draft) and expiring, without giving anything back. This probobly means Nets will keep Dayron or include him in a bigger deal with other players. Nuggets will have to look elswere for backup C.
