But they have that guy developing now in Jaquez, so they shoot for the stars and land the big man who gives them something new - a true weapon in the frontcourt, and more size to a small team. His energy definitely fits the culture, and they can use a lil shake up to the make up

I’m constantly shocked at the low valuation of Herro. Cody Martin? He’s not even the best Martin twin.

Bam is a perfect C for a smaller fast team, I don’t like Randles fit that much here.

Both Miami and New York have been at the bottom of the league in pace for the last 5 years with both players having success. I know Randle's value is almost non-existent on this board but I think he could really benefit from the Heat's culture. He has kinda been given a free pass in New York with Thibs and the organization for whatever reason but he is clearly a talented player that does offer some things that the team is missing.

I don't really understand the desire for the Knicks to unload Randle. I think he provides what they need if he can stay healthy. If they can turn him and those picks into a frontcourt star, then, sure, make a trade. But I wouldn't trade him for depth.

I wouldn't trade a single one of those pieces for Randle. Not one, much less all three

I wouldn't trade him for these pieces on the Knicks but I would definitely move him in a multi-team trade if these pieces plus some of the Knicks other assets could net a better or more complimentary player than Randle.

Just out of curiosity why would your prefer to keep Herro on your books for the next 3 years next to Rozier versus adding a power forward in Randle that could technically come of the books in the next 1-2 years along with Butler allowing the team to possibly reset around Bam?

Also what do you think made the organization give up value for Rozier who at times could be considered the Julius Randle of small guards?

Fit and playoff performance! I hate Randle's fit next to Bam and Jimmy. And I'm not saying I want to keep Herro, just not trade him for Randle. And Rozier cost us an expiring waste of a roster spot and a protected first. He's a clunky fit next to Herro, but I want to move Herro and have for a long time.

Can't get passed the whole all star team thing can ya. Easier to harp on small sample sizes on teams without much help. Meanwhile no one other than me bats an eyelash when someone demands 5 first round picks for lotto team star Lauri Markenen (however his name is spelled)

Value seems fine for Randle, the problem is Charlotte is getting a lot of that value for no reason at all.

But outside of his rookie year Herro hasn't been a good playoff performer himself. Randle isn't the perfect fit between Bam and Butler but he found a way to function and have success between Robinson and Barrett for years.

And I was just wondering why your organization was willing to give up a lottery protected first in 2027 that is completely unprotected in 2028 for a questionable fit and player in Rozier but you wouldn't be willing to move a guaranteed mid first rounder in what is considered a below average draft for Randle?

Caleb Martin just seems like another one of those guys that looked great in Miami at times but will never live up to expectations on another team. Julius is arguably more talented than any of the other pieces involved but you wouldn't be willing to move a single one in hopes that your team could maximize the impact of his talents as has been done with many other players on the Heat before?

I guess, for the right team the value might be okay, but we're not that team. And yes, Charlotte is sucking up value that they shouldn't be getting. I feel like, value wise, Miami should keep it's pick while Charlotte gives one.

I still wouldn't do it because I hate him for Miami but that's probably fair value

Just an FYI for anyone making trades with the Heat, Jimmy Butler is very much a 4 at this point. They need to upgrade their perimeter, not front-court.

So, again, I want to trade Herro. I believe Duncan Robinson is a much better fit next to Rozier. I believe the team would like to trade Herro, as well. Pat Riley's comments regarding Herro weren't exactly a glowing endorsement. My ideal move would be to include Herro in a larger trade for a star, or to find a way to trade him into someone's cap space with no one coming back (that's unrealistic). I don't consider Randle a candidate because I hate the fit.

Nope. Jovic is our four. Miami plays positionless basketball. When we go small, Caleb Martin and Jimmy play together. Neither is a four.
