Orlando Magic

Out: 2025 1st, Wendell Carter, Cole Anthony
In: *cap room*, Nick Richards, Cody Martin

Open up more than $50M to swipe PG from LAC and re-up Goga, giving up 2 talented pieces who seem to be outside of the Magics core

RICHARDS / BITADZE
BANCHERO / M WAGNER
F WAGNER / HOWARD
GEORGE / MARTIN
SUGGS / BLACK

Charlotte Hornets

Out: Nick Richards, Cody Martin
In: 2025 ORL 1st, Wendell Carter, Terrance Mann

Spend some money on an asset or 2
Could cut LAC out & hold onto Cole, but I think after this next season letting Miller & Ball do their thing, they'll have a bunch of contracts coming off the books & they'll have a lot more flexibility then

M WILLIAMS / POKUCEVSKI
CARTER / G WILLIAMS
BRIDGES / MANN
MILLER / MANN
BALL / MICIC

Inglewood Clippers

Out: Terrance Mann
In: Cole Anthony

Use the expiring deal to bolster the bench

Debating using Tucker instead of Mann, and also sending Wendell here instead of Anthony, but not sure if they'd use the assets to bridge the gap in either offer

ZUBAC / PLUMLEE
LEONARD / TUCKER
POWELL / BROWN
HARDEN / COFFEY
WESTBROOK / ANTHONY

That first probably needs to go to the Clippers unless you swap WCJ for Cole Anthony.

Whether this might be the true value of T or not, a subject I'm not going to touch on, the front office was hellbent on not including him for Harden and numerous other trades the past few years.

Why would they pivot and deal him for Cole Anthony, who they could just give the looks to Bones instead, while concurrently helping Orlando sign George?

So the Magic trade away cost-controlled players who contribute to winning to sign ... wait for it ... PG.

The Magic have no interest in PG..

22 year old PG could play anywhere, this old version cannot.

The Magic need a PG, not this PG.

This is pretty bad for the Clippers. Not only do they help the Magic take one of their stars for nothing, they downgrade from Mann to Anthony.

Wait why are the Clippers making a deal that facilitates losing their own free agent? I know making fun of NBA GMs is a hobby on this forum but they aren't this clueless.

This is worse for the Clippers than just losing PG. Meanwhile it's wildly too good for Charlotte (getting WCJ and a 1st for 3rd string guys).

Assuming PG wants to go to Orlando (see the GB thread), wouldn’t the Magic only need to decline the TO on Ingles and then trade M Wagner into space somewhere?

If they’re bringing in PG13 they should be keeping their contributors.

Can’t the Magic sign PG13 to a max contract by simply not picking up team options for Ingles and Mo Wagner? I think this roster would be much more attractive to the Magic…

PG - Suggs / Anthony
SG - George / Black
SF - Wagner / Houstan / Howard
PF - Banchero
C - Carter / Isaac
Picks - #18 / #47

I think the Wizards would be interested in absorbing Mo Wagner's contract with a TPE. Wagner is good.

Wagner is a TO...but yeah, they could easily get some kind of draft asset for him...or maybe even restructure his deal for more years for less.

ORL doesn't need to take back useless players AND add a frp to get a little cap space...they could do better. I'd happily trade Cole and DEN 25 frp for a pick in the late 20's, early 30's in this year's "weak" draft. Cole can contribute and is on a fair deal, but ORL's summer probably cuts deeply into his place in ORL rotation. WCJ is way more valuable than this. ORL has other options to cut a little salary - they're not that far off and they have team options, etc.

NOW, should they spend $50m on PG? That's a whole other discussion

I would rather have Mann over Cole if Im the Clippers, and this is just way too good for the Hornets. WCJ is better than Richards, and Mann is better than Martin, and they're getting a pick as well?

Yea, I’m not sure about this one.

Clippers are not willingly going to help Orlando acquire one of their star players that they’re trying to retain themselves.

If PG13 is willing to come to Orlando they can open enough cap to sign him outright without having to do anything really significant and retain their assets.

No Fultz, Isaac, Ingles, Harris, Okeke opens up roughly $58.5M

But George willingly coming to Orlando and Orlando willingly paying George over $53M seems like a pipe dream tbh.
