Caruso for Giddey marks the signal for a Bulls rebuild.
What are offers for LaVine and Vucevic?
I expect Bulls will probably take on bad salary for assets. Simmons?

Lavine would be very interesting next to Cade, as Cade draws double, and triple teams as soon as he gets to the top of the arch. Couldn't do that with Lavine next to him.
Problems are his health, durability, and defense. Also, he'll be 30 within the season, so does he fit the timeline, and are his best days behind him?
I dont even know what to offer to be honest. Long damn contract as well. Tough one.

I hope you’re right.
Hopefully CHI can move both without eating trash.

I don't think either has positive trade value. Chicago should just buyout Vucevic and let him go where he wants and trade LaVine for anything they can get. I suspect they'll have to add value to move him, but I'd be calling Brooklyn about a LaVine for Simmons swap if the Nets are trying to avoid giving up a lottery pick to Houston again.

I would say the Barnes/Huerter for Lavine deal has legs now.

I thought that too but then LaVine > Beal, and Beal got positive value.

I'm working on something like this:
Bulls get Simmons, Claxton SnT
Nets get Mitchell EnT
Cavs get LaVine, picks (BKN)

Beal got positive value because Phoenix was being stupid. I think we can assume there is always a chance for that level of stupidity to happen again, but the most likely scenario (IMO) is that LaVine returns other bad money that is either multi-year but broken into multiple contracts (perhaps with some small incentive to actually make the swap), or maybe an expiring attached to a player whose career is essentially over.

I love this trade for the Bulls, if the Kings are offering that they need to take it.

Is it a rebuild move? I figured that would involve seeking picks. He is younger, but also already a decent player. I could see it as either a rebuild or just moving pieces around.

I could see maybe Memphis being interested in Vuc. They have the D in JJJ/Smart to cover for him.
Kennard/Watanabe as the framework.

Hard disagree on the Lavine > Beal take in terms of Lavine's value today compared to Beal's value when he was dealt. Feels like that's factoring in post-trade Beal but somehow winding back the clock as if last year didn't happen to Lavine.
I'd even argue Beal is closer to positive value than Lavine is today (my roundabout way of saying both are negative value). At least Beal is still a good, efficient scorer when he does play. He's actually carried terrible teams to the playoffs before. Lavine's never won a playoff game ever and his team is usually better without him. Plus he's coming off of foot surgery.
Nah, any team that takes Lavine would be asking for a disaster.

Perhaps if the owners did say they have to shoot for the POs the GM was like, we're not rebuilding, we think he can compliment the core (which he doesn't with guys like Lavine and DDR).

Feels like a split the difference move. Giddey is both young enough for a rebuild and experienced enough to play on a team pushing for the playoffs. We should know soon enough if the team moves LaVine or DDR.

Not fully investigated but what would Spurs be interested in joining a Nets/Bulls trade
Bulls - KJ, Collins and someone like Graham for salary matching
Nets - Lavine
Spurs - Simmons
Picks etc will need to be considered.
Gives Nets a proven scorer
Spurs defence goes to another level if Simmons plays and improved playmaking/passing. If he doesn't play, contract off the books at end of year or another trade
Bulls get off Lavine's deal and bring in 2 solid players on okay deals

Griz have a glut of fours. What about Brandon Clarke +?

Think the Grizz value Clarke (not that they don't Kennard). Just think his type will be more valuable to them and the Bulls would want expirings if they can get it.

Guys relax. Mem is not trading for Vucevic.
