Kings/Nuggets

So the impetus here is the Kings want to upgrade the other forward spot next to Murray and the Nuggets might be losing KCP but even if they don't they could use depth.

So

Porter Jr

for

Barnes
Huerter

Porter Jr is the best player here so the Kings get their upgrade. Nuggets get two shooters for one and an additional body.

No picks, just straight and simple. Feels so logical I wonder why I never thought about it before?

I would probably do this deal but not sure why Denver would.

I’d take Kuzma, grant, Cam Johnson, and Deandre Hunter before I go for MPJ

- The rebounding of Kyle Kuzma
- The shooting of Cam Johnson
- The efficiency of Cam Johnson
- The size/length of Jerami Grant
- The scoring of Jerami Grant
- The contract of Jerami Grant
- The age of DeAndre Hunter

Porter actually seems like a great combo of the guys you mentioned ;)

Having said that, his defense and injury history are the question marks but I think his defense is average. And if we’re not surrendering any assets, you have to at least consider it.

I think Porter’s off ball scoring and relatively low usage still allows Murray to grow offensively (if he can take that next step). I also like the idea of having Ellis, Murray, and Porter spacing the floor for Fox and Sabonis (many Kings player have mentioned how Ellis and Vezenkov often win the shooting competitions in practice).

I like a version where Porter goes to the Blazers when he is younger...something like Porter/Nnaji+FRP and Grant returns to Denver along with Thybulle as a replacement for KCP

I don't mind this.
Doesn't fill the defensive void, but it is an upgrade over the combination of Barnes/Huerter.

Feel like Denver can do better elsewhere.

It's harder than it looks. Or was for me. Obviously if you can get Detroit to take him(which I did in a different thread) then it opens up salary dumps to Denver, but of course that's flawed players. Or you can attach their late 1st, but again the pickings are limited.

But I really do think they should break him up, and basically have to imo if KCP walks. So I'd love to see your better options. Because Denver needs them.

Otherwise not sure where to go from just they could do better lol.

I kind of like a MPJ for Wiggins/Moody swap for both teams. Warriors get a better scorer, nuggets improve perimeter D

Eh. Maybe if KCP ends up leaving, but this doesn't really excite me. Barnes is on the decline and Huerter just isn't that good. They'd lose a ton of size and rebounding. MPJ improved as a rebounder.

Denver invested so many years in MPJ and resisted the temptation to dump him. I don't think they want to trade him, especially for spare parts.
