Long overdue. He's a great coach.

As a Knicks fan I don't like this. It means the Cavs are going to be good. Booooooooooo

Unlles Kenny "the snake" Atkinson changes his mind in the next week, so that he can crawl back into his assistant job.

Domino effect? How soon until we hear more about Mitchell, Okoro, potential trades leading up to the draft?

James Borrego forever the bridesmaid I guess.
Never gotten the love for this guy, but assuming he's Mitchell's hand-picked guy which ultimately is all that matters to Cavs fans, get that ink on that extension.

They wouldn't have hired Atkinson if it was going to be am issue with Mitchell and I don't see Okoro signing a contract at a number low enough for him to have trade value.

He coached the hell out of a lottery-bound Brooklyn team in 2019.

It’s a good hire. With his past success with Allen I think it’s less likely they trade him

This is the guy who ruined the Nets' 2018 draft pick, which the Cavs acquired in the Kyrie Irving trade and was speculated to be a top 5 pick, but slid to #8. In the Luka/Trae draft. And he did it by winning 6 of the last 11 games in the Nets' regular season. Thanks, Kenny.
I wonder what it does to karma to bring in this kind of indirectly harmful coach to the franchise?

Bummer that he's leaving GS, but it was inevitable. Cavs got a good one.
I'm excited to see what he can do with Mobley's development on offense.

Borrego's name has been thrown around to replace Kenny as our lead assistant (nothing concrete, just speculation), which would be a tragic irony.

Was Atkinson in charge of Kuminga's development?

Detroit is very likely to hire Borrego.

that is very good news for Cade and Ivey, provided you guys find them some shooters to space the floor. It is probably the worst news for Ausar unless there's some miracle worker on JB's staff that can get Ausar shooting threes at like a 30% clip.
Knowing JB's style of play and preference for players, there's probably a lot of DNP in Ausar's future if he doesn't. I see no way he lets Thompson and Duren see the floor together.

If the Knicks ever moved on from Thibs, I was hoping Atkinson was one of the guys the organization would look at. I'm curious to see what he has picked up from being on Lue and Kerr's staff since his last gig in Brooklyn.

Detroit hired away Vinson from the Pelicans. He's the miracle worker who fixed Lonzo's and Herb's shots.
