Ingram for MPJ - Who says no?

Salaries are very close and at least currently for 24-25 season Nuggets are under 2nd apron so it's doable.

Let's say there might be minor salary or draft pick one way or the other, but at it's core:

Brandon Ingram
for
Michael Porter Jr

Who says no? Seems on the surface like a reasonable trade for both. Shooting for the Pelicans, who need it. Playmaker/wing for Denver.

I would rather have Ingram. I think NO says no.

Yeah Ingram is the better player and has more contract flexibility. I think this is a pretty easy pass for NO.

It depends on what you're looking for.

If I'm a team looking for a #2 MPJ can't touch BI. If NO's are looking for a better fitting role player to take 3's where BI is reluctant, MPJ.

Same principle behind replacing BI with Murphy. Talent downgrade but spacing chemistry fit upgrade. BI is the better player but Murphy makes ZIon better. Murphy also makes MPJ redundant.

In moving BI NO's need a #2/3 option at point with Herb & Murphy, 2 role players on the wing.

For this reason, NO's says no.

I dislike this for Denver more than New Orleans. Not sure its a perfect fit for them but it makes sense, we know MPJ would be a better fit next to Zion. I can't imagine Denver has any interest taking the ball out of Murray/Jokic hands to let BI do his thing, and he's not great off ball.

Bad target for both.

Don't like the direction for either team. NO has good role playing shooters already. They need a CJ replacement and a center. Denver needs guys to play off joker, not iso in the midrange. And of course the cap issues of having to resign him.

I don't see how this helps Denver from a roster perspective. Maybe you are trying to get out of the last 2 years of MPJs deal.

MPJ is a better shooter and rebounder. BI is a better overall offensive player but Denver doesn't need BI for Isos. They are probably the same on defense but I'd bet on MPJ's additional size over BI's.
