LAKERS GET:
Collin Sexton
Walker Kessler
#29 2024 Draft Pick
#32 2024 Draft Pick

JAZZ GET:
Dennis Schroeder
Jalen Hood-Schifino
Cam Reddish
#17 2024 Draft Pick (via Lakers)
Top 4 Protection Removed from 2027 Lakers FRP
2025 2RP (via Nets)
2026 2RP (via Nets)

NETS GET:
D’Angelo Russell
Jaxson Hayes (or Christian Wood)

Nets add some shooting/creation, Lakers get a young center to stabilize their defense and a guard to replace DLO, and the Jazz add some draft capital in the form of a now fully unprotected 2027 pick and the 17th pick of this year's draft. Perhaps a bit light for Utah?

The problem here is D'Lo doesn't need to Opt-In until after the draft.

But if he wants to go to Brooklyn he can opt in.

I think the Lakers are giving up too much here. While Kessler for #17 is probably fair value, I don't think Sexton is Hood-Schifino plus two unprotected draft assets better than Russell. I'm not even sure Sexton is better than Russell, the Lakers just might want to shake it up.

Net are getting too good of a deal here turning Schroeder into Russell for just 2 2nds. I think Brooklyn should send the 2027 protected PHIL 1st and swap out one of the 2nds.

LAL: Sexton, Kessler
Utah: Pick #17, Jalen Hood-Schifino, 2027 PHIL 1st, BK 2nd
BK: D'Angelo Russell

I do like what this trade does for the Lakers, especially if Vincent and Vanderbilt are healthy.

You start Vincent and Reaves in the backcourt - adding 3 and d balance, with Sexton as the 6th man. Kessler and Vanderbilt platoon with James/Davis depending on the matchup, similar to what Spo did with Hasslem Battier

Small lineup - Vincent/Reaves/James/Davis/Kessler
Big lineup - Vincent/Reaves/Vanderbilt/James/Davis
Mix and match Sexton and Rui off the bench with Taureen Prince mixed in.

That team is 9 deep and balanced.

Pass

No real interest in Sexton

Kessler would be one of the last options I would explore

He is a solid C and young, but gives us no shooting. I dont love the fit next to AD

Pass for Utah.
