Lets say Spurs are okay giving Ingram close-to-max and he's down to spend his prime next to Wemby and see what happens.

Pels Send - Ingram + pick 21
Spurs send - pick 4 + one of Zach Collins or Keldon Johnson

(The 'Zach or Keldon' stipulation depends on if Pels draft Clingan or a PG. Can see them wanting Zach if they draft a PG)

Spurs get a proven guy in his prime who is a quality leader. Pels get to look at Clingan, Sheppard, Topic, Castle and pick whoever they like most that is there at #4.

The move helps the Pels keep Murphy III and move him into the starting 5 by getting cost controlled talent and moving Ingram's current (and future) cost. Pels can move forward with possible lineups of:

Clingan/Zion/Murphy III/Herb/CJ or
Collins/Zion/Murphy III/Herb/CJ (with one of Sheppard/Topic/Castle to take over from CJ)

Spurs put a star player at a position of need and keep #8 to draft a PG with.

Wemby/Sochan/Ingram/Vassell/#8

I think they gotta be a little bit more patient and keep giving those shots to Wemby next year

Him and BI would overlap too much offensively to be a guaranteed fit, or be worth the reward

I think the Spurs should be as good as possible under realistic terms next year.

1) Don't trade high-lottery picks (Like #4 and #8)
2) Limit Free Agents contracts to 3 years.
3) Focus on fit around Wemby over Raw-Talent
4) Allow Wemby to continue to explore the studio space

I think the Spurs will be a 40-ish win team next year. They desperately need to upgrade their playmaking/passing and shooting. This can be done by upgrading Tre Jones or adding versatile offensive players on the Wing.

This deal doesn't do that for them, so it's a no-go for me.

Ingram upgrades playmaking/passing and shooting from the wing. He's close enough to a point forward. Totally possible the Spurs could do a Team option for year 4 of Ingram's deal and realistically Spurs aren't going to get a star player without giving up #4. I don't think #8 holds enough value.

So maybe while not checking every box exactly, it's really not far off. Wemby is still going to get his touches and shots. If anyone is going to lose shots it'll be Vassell.

For sure,
Where i see BI being most effective is from the corners of the key, creating space with his length to shoot over guys, or maneuvering from there and finessing his way to the rim

I think Wemby will develop into a monster in that area first as his reach makes everything from the corners of the key a layup

He should keep getting those reps, the extra mid-range shots, post-ups and drive opportunities for now. It will make him stronger, and the team can keep accumulating assets til you got a great supporting cast and know Wemby's comfort zones offensively

But honestly its basketball and it can work. The pace that things move and change are pretty wild in this league

I also think they should try and make a move for Ben Simmons or Lonzo this year and try and revitalize their careers & show Sochan how a Point Forward should run

So who knows what kind of move would help the most in the long run

Ahh okay, I see where you're coming from. Checking their respective shot charts It looks like they 'could' fit better than expected.

Wemby's mid-range fg% is pretty bad (will improve) but maybe a guy like Ingram taking free-throw line hand-off from Wemby looking for his pull-up middy will force a lot of mistakes defensively and Ingram will always reward Wemby if he's got an easier shot. Ingram is pretty selfless.

I could see the synergy of these two operating a 2 man game along with some spacers and a baseline roamer.

Still injury prone, expiring, and will be overpaid even if not for the max (which he's adamant about). Pass.

He absolutely has expectations to get the max. If Siakam got the max he’s certainly thinking he can get the max too. If he doesn’t get the max he’s getting pretty close to it (still not worth it).

Who's giving up assets + giving him the max?

Maybe a few teams Wizards/Pistons who can't attract stars gets desperate and offer him the max. Other than that I can't see anyone giving him a max contract.
