I expected more teams in the high 20s to move down to the low 20s and pick up some draft capital like this. I like Holmes for Denver well enough (though I think Dunn would have been a nice fit), but I really dislike Dunn for Phoenix. They could have at least addressed their point guard depth a little bit or drafted someone who has any skill on offense.

POA defense is what the suns needed most. A big defensive wing was and should have been their priority. Let’s see how they build out the rest of their roster.

Well he is the best perimeter defender in the draft other than maybe Carter. Maybe with Nurkic's shooting it works, IDK. I am so fascinated by what Phoenix does this offseason.

Should be able to run him in lineups surrounded by shooting with KD and Bol Bol

Think Suns got player they wanted and needed and picked up assets. Haven’t liked a lot of moves over the years but this seems very solid.

Hope they can bring Bol back. I like Bamba as a FA minimum guy too. Nurk taking more above the break threes is interesting. He had success the one year he was asked to do it regularly in Portland. His shot isn’t bad but not sure how consistent he can be from deep.

I don't love the Suns handing Holmes to Denver (who is theoretically a great fit in the role they hoped Zeke Nnaji would fill) but I like the fit of Dunn on the Suns quite a bit. They needed a disruptive perimeter defender in the worst way and have more than enough offense to cover for him.

Holmes is a Phoenix area guy too. Clearly that was the guy the Nuggets were targeting so that makes me feel even worse about handing him over to them  Nuggets are so good at drafting to their system. But the Suns got everything they wanted too, Dunn and extra draft capital.

I fully expect Holmes will be plug-play type of player who will be a great backup, or play with our dominant center for Grand Rapids Gold, Jay Huff. I see him fitting with our other picks from the last few drafts Tyson, Pickett, Gillespie, Strawter. Rings are coming - in the G league, Nuggets nation.
