NYK/Thunder/Bucks

Primary reasoning behind the trade is to cut cost for NYK. Randle is going to have a scoring production reduction with Bridges on-board. Moving Mitchell allows for NYK to offer Hartenstein as much as they are allowed 4yr/$72M and avoid the apron.

NYK sends Randle, Mitchell
NYK receives K. Williams, Dieng, Jaylin Williams, Portis, 25 FRP
Losing Randle is not easy but the return of Portis who can play the small ball 5 as well as shoot the 3 gives good spacing. J. Williams is young and can be the backup 5 as well. The others simply make the numbers work.

Milwaukee trades Portis,
Milwaukee receives Mitchell, Livingston
Mitchell is a defensive center who can play with Giannis and Lillard and Middleton and not require plays run for him. Lopez, if he is leaving, is replaced. Perhaps Milwaukee takes Filipowski at 33.

OKC trade K. Williams, Dieng, Jaylin Williams, 25 FRP (least likely to convey)
OKC receive Livingston, Randle
Randle's offense with SGA/Holmgren/Williams could be the needed bump. Randles lack of defense is offset with Holmgren behind him.

The Knicks need Julius Randle to be their #2 option if they are going to go on a deep playoff run.

I don't see anyone but the Knicks agreeing to this.

I don't think there's any incentive for Milwaukee to do this. There's no clear cut upgrade or asset acquired in this for the Bucks and they are helping out a fellow contending team in the east.

Bucks pass. No interest in Mitchell, he’s not a fit. Not giving up Portis for him.

OKC gets a player over 6'6? Rejected! OKC is only interested in PGs and wings. I wouldn't be surprised if they traded Chet for a wing to make Presti's dream of a no big man lineup come true.

The Knick trolling from you has reached epic levels. Knicks would hang up the phone quickly for obvious reasons.

Real talk, what's the best offer the Knicks have gotten for Randle - before the injury.

lol how the hell would I (or you) know? You working the phones?

But Leon and Co. clearly don’t wanna trade him. Even after a down year in 2022, Leon still stuck by him. The vast majority of Knick fans don’t wanna trade him either. He just had his best year with us before the injury, and he/OG/Brunson together were playing amazing basketball.

Most people here aren’t paying attention to that, and just hyper focused on our cap situation and jumping to irrational conclusions as a result. Look closely at the moves the FO is making, does that appear to you like one that is gearing up to trade their multi-time All-Star/All-NBA player?

Randle could be a great fit on Thunder. I like that idea.
Bucks should be cut out, it's bad for them.

Seems absolutely brutal for the Knicks unless there's a follow-up trade using these pieces to get someone like Randle to help Brunson create.

We don't know, but the FO reportedly turned down "neutral value" offers for him two summers ago...when he was coming off his worst season as a Knick and before we saw how strong his & Brunson's synergy is, or his second All-NBA campaign...
