Maybe Brown can get McDaniels head on straight but god, he was awful for the Raptors. Like the Davion fit, is Sasha really going back overseas like that report from a few weeks ago?

Nothing lights Massai's flame like defensive players, built like tanks and can't shoot!
Defense wins draft lotteries!

Jalen was horrible on the Sixers and seemed like he maybe was worse on Toronto. Mitchell seemed destined to be dumped for anything out of Sac.

Hard to view this as anything but each team asking the other to hold their trash, as it looks better than cutting youth you bet on for each team on their own. Some more salary to Toronto, but also more upside chance based off age, right?

SAC saves some money for a mere mid-round SRP

Mitchell becomes the best backup PG by far that Toronto has had since Lowry left and FVV was promoted to starter. Also get a SRP for eating a bit of money for 1 season, and Vezenkov's shooting can't possibly be worse than McDaniels

Minor but good for both

The Kings have been trying to make a move for months. But now that Evan Sideryt has a move coming I actually have it as less likely.

Not sure how this lends to that. We just traded 12 million or so of tradeable salary in a cost cutting move.

I'm not mad about it, I liked McDaniels in Charlotte. Id rather have him than either of these guys, but it really was just about saving some money.

The amount of savings gets is approaching the MLE. Gives us some freedom to spend on someone.

Well we were gonna sell it for cash and considerations anyways. Here instead of receiving cash, Vivek was able to save 8.3 million. Vivek is a happy man

So it's just a salary dump mostly? Bc I think it's getting pretty clear McDaniels is just bad

If anyone can get a fire lit under McDaniels it’s Mike Brown and Doug Christie.

And the savings is not about just tax or money in Vivek’s pocket. By getting under the tax, we do two things. We get back the ability to use the NTMLE at about fifteen million (which will buy you a pretty decent role player to fill out your team needs) and it allows us to b not hard capped and make full open trades.

FYI, if you use the NTMLE you are de facto hardcapped at the first apron.
