Re: king blazes hornet in net on maverick
DFS doesn't have this kind of value (I didn't think Sacry Terry had it either, but that's neither here nor there...)
CamJo also doesn't have this king of value, for a young shooter on MLE deal + neutral contract, it's too close to add a 1st.
I don't think the Blazers are looking for cap relief anymore after the Avdija trade.

Re: king blazes hornet in net on maverick
OP, that Blazers roster is a mess. I think you missed a couple trades Blazers made the last 2 days looking at that roster you gave us. We have Avdija now, and don’t have Carrington or Kolek. Plus you gave us Bertans and didn’t include him in our roster. Then you have people out of position all over the place (Walker at SF but Murray at PF?)
As for the trade itself, I do agree with moving some vets, but I disagree with the value coming back here.

Re: king blazes hornet in net on maverick
I dont think Barnes has two 2nd round picks more value than THJ. I like Barnes more than most Mavs fans, but he isnt worth giving up those 2 seconds with THJ considering his contract is longer and he's not a huge upgrade over what is going out

Re: king blazes hornet in net on maverick
Who is Jones at backup PF for the Kings? If that’s supposed to be Colby Jones, he’s a SG.
Also, the 2025 POR 2nd no longer belongs to SAC. It was sent out with Mitchell, Vezenkov, and #45.
As for the trade itself, not a big fan of this direction. I’d rather find a PF with size/length that keeps Murray at SF (to help combat Sabonis’ lack of length at C). Johnson isn’t that guy. I’d also prefer to not invest that much cap in a backup C who will only get 12-14 mpg. We need to be more wise in how we use that money with these aprons.
I’d rather hold onto our future 1sts this off-season and make a trade that balances the roster while (at most) cost us 2nd round picks. That gives us the next year to further assess what Murray will become (star or 3&D player), if Ellis is the real deal (larger sample size), and if Carter is a stud and should be our starting SG. We then go into the 2025 offseason with all of our future 1sts available to trade (since the 2025 1st is only Top 12 Protected this year and will likely convey) and be in a great position to make a big swing while having more intel on what we think our young guys will grow into.

I was hoping and expecting this to be one of the first replies. You did not disappoint. Jroy have it all.
