Your Team's Depth Chart 2024-25

Post#1 » by gswhoops » Fri Jun 28, 2024 1:51 pm

Figured I'd start a new thread since we're at the cusp of a new offseason (not trying to steal your thunder loserX!)

Golden State Warriors (as of 3/7/25)

Draymond Green / Quinten Post / Trayce Jackson-Davis / Kevon Looney
Moses Moody / (Jonathan Kuminga) / Gui Santos
Jimmy Butler /Kevin Knox (10-day) / Braxton Key (2W)
Brandin Podziemski / Buddy Hield / Gary Payton II / Jackson Rowe (2W)
Stephen Curry / Pat Spencer / Yuri Collins (10-day) / Taran Armstrong (2W)

Spoiler:
Training camp: Blake Hinson, Kevin Knox, Jackson Rowe

FA: Klay Thompson (UFA, Bird), Dario Saric (UFA), Lester Quinones (UFA), Usman Garuba (UFA), Jerome Robinson (two-way RFA)

Offseason Moves

-Trade #52 pick to OKC for Lindy Waters III
-Trade cash to Portland for #52 pick
-Select Quinten Post at #52
-Waived Chris Paul
-Signed De'Anthony Melton
-S&T Klay Thompson to Dallas for S&T Kyle Anderson and S&T Buddy Hield
-Signed Daeqwon Plowden to two-way contract
-Signed Quinten Post to two-way contract (released Daeqwon Plowden)

Biggest Offseason Questions

-Will we re-sign Klay? If so, at what number?
-Will we make a big move to go all-in now, or stay the course?
-Will Kuminga be extended?

Here's the main group currently for Brooklyn:

PG - Schroder / Simmons / S.Milton
SG - Cam Thomas / K.Johnson / Whitehead
SF - Cam Johnson / J Wilson / Bogdonovic
PF - DFS / Z.Williams / T.Watford
C - Claxton / Clowney / Sharpe

Exhibit 10's = KJ Jones, Mark Armstrong

Watford is an RFA they probably try to bring back.

Lonnie Walker & Dennis Smith are UFAs they may or may not bring back.

Almost everyone available for the right deal but DFS and CamJ are obviously most prominently on trade block. Looking for either draft picks or rookie contract players.

Depth chart is better in the front court than the back court, so for the teams angling to grab either CamJ or DFS, if you have a recent FRP G buried on your depth chart that's a good place to start thinking of matches. The odds either of Schroder/Simmons being Nets 1 year from now, or even past trade deadline, is very very low.

Houston Rockets
positions are loose with them so this is more rotationally than where they'll play in lineups specifically:

Fred VanVleet / Reed Sheppard
Jalen Green / Cam Whitmore
Dillon Brooks / Amen Thompson / AJ Griffin
Jabari Smith Jr / Tari Eason / Jae'Sean Tate / Jeff Green
Alperen Sengun / Steven Adams / Jock Landale

Two-way: N'Faly Dante

Exhibit 10: N/A

FA: Reggie Bullock, Aaron Holiday, Boban Marjanovic, Nate Williams (2 Way RFA), Jermaine Samuels (2 Way RFA), NAte Hinton (2 Way RFA)

Offseason Moves

-Swapped some future BKN picks for PHX picks
-44 for AJ Griffin

Already at 14 guys going into free agency, only pending free agents with a shot at returning imo are Aaron Holiday and Nate Williams (on another 2 way). Last roster spot should go to a third point guard that can at least shoot a little bit

Little Mavs:

Gafford/Lively/Powell
Washington/Kleber/Prosper
?/Ajinca
Kyrie/Green/Grimes/Lawson
Luka/Exum/Hardy

The ? is likely going to be filled with the MLE in some fashion, Derrick Jones Jr probably the favorite there. Ajinca might well be a stash or 2 way guy but listing him for now. Lawson quite likely not on the team.

Indiana Pacers

Pg / Haliburton, McConnell
Sg / Nembhard, Sheppard
Sf / Mathurin, Nesmith, Brown, Furphy
PF / Siakam, Toppin (if re-signed), Walker
C / Turner, Jackson, Smith (if opts in)

Lots of positional flexibility. Nembhard will also play 1. Sheppard, Mathurin, and Nesmith will play 2/3. Walker will play 3/4/5. Siakam, Toppin, Jackson, and Smith will play 4/5.

That would have to be figured out after Free Agency and trades.Outside of Joel Emiid,Tyrese Maxey,Jared McCain(assuming he's not packaged as a part of a bigger trade) and Adem Bona, I have zero clue who's going to be the roster next year.

Vucevic (maybe traded) J Smith
Williams Bitim
Phillips Craig (opting in) Buzelis

UFA
DeRozan not coming back
Drummond Gone
Javonte Green

RFA
Drell
Sanogo

Mavs:

PG: Luka/ Exum
SG: Kyrie/ Green / Hardy
SF: MLE(DJJ?) / Grimes
PF: PJ / Kleber / OMax
C: Lively / Gafford / Powell

Dallas has a log jam of bench guards with Hardy, Green, Grimes, and Exum. 3 of which could have a breakout year. All 4 of them could make a playoff rotation by the end of next season or it could just be 1 of them again.

Celtics are pretty set except for a couple FA and minimum slots. 8 man rotation is back. 14 players back. KP will miss the first bit of the season after a successful surgery.
If it ain’t broke don’t fix it.
Porzingis (injured to start the season) / Horford/ Kornet/Queta
Tatum/ Tillman
Brown / Hauser / Walsh /Baylor S (30th pick)
Jrue / Springer
White / Pritchard
FA: , Brissett, JD Davison (restricted), Peterson (Restricted)
2 ways- Anton Watson (54 pick)
Might give Davison a big league contract…or a 2 way or let him seek employment elsewhere.

Lively/Gaffod/Powell
Washington/Maxi/Prosper/Morris
Klay/Marshal/Lawson
Kyrie/Grimes/Hardy
Luka/Exum/

I think Lively moves back to starting lineup, and be matched more with Klay with his ability to play make, Mavs will hopefully expand their offensive playbook, with movement shooter like Klay, and multiple player able to drive and kick, as opposed to mainly spot up shooters, this will help reduce Luka's usage in RS.
Defense wins draft lotteries!

What about Malik? I think he is better than Tim.
