Josh Green offers, trades

Post#1 » by Astaluego » Fri Jun 28, 2024 3:03 pm

With the acquisition of Grimes and presumably re-signing DJJ. Green becomes expendable. And the Mavs should still try to get an upgrade at Wing + a more reliable shooter (J.Grant comes to mind), what's your offer for Green?? (of course feel free to include anyone not named Luka/KI /Lively

You know what I'm gonna say.

(it's Wiggins for Green and Kleber)

Dallas had minutes for THJ, Green, and DJJ don’t think there’s a minute crunch now.

Yes, sure, but don't you think we have? We need someone a little bigger to play in the 3... apart from DJJ... Exum/Green/Grimes are a little small to defend wings (in my opinion)

It'd probably have to wait until after (if) we re-sign Klay because otherwise Wiggins might be our starting 2, but I'd ultimately be on board.

I hope Dallas isn’t done. And would love if they end up with a Wiggins, Grant, etc.

Just was really saying, it works as is. The team at least returned a rotation player back and not just salary dump THJ. PJ can guard down, Luka needs to guard weak.. etc.

If my math was right, which it probably wasn’t. Dallas now has the room to actually sign a 15th player.. or to run 14 and bring back a couple million more in a trade. They didn’t need to dump 12 million to open the MLE for DJJ

I think Dallas should do this and then sign a better shooter with the MLE.

Won’t they need the MLE for Jones?

Yeah I’m saying that should trade for Wiggins with Green and Kleber instead of resigning DJJ. And then with the MLE that they would still have sign the best shooter they can.

MIL - Green & future 2nd
DAL - Portis

Bucks get a starting SG

Dallas a stretch 4 who becomes their microwave scorer off the bench who can play alongside Gafford/Lively.

Green unfortunately makes more than Portis so I don’t think this deal can be saved. Unless Portis’ trade kicker pushes it up?

If Dallas took Connaughton, could Milwaukee build a roster under the second apron and then that wouldn’t matter?

Not sure Green and a bit of value is worth hard capping the team at the second apron. I don’t think it is at all, but would love it for Dallas..

I think Luka, Maxi and Prosper are enough to provide backup big forward for PJ.
DJJ, Grimes and Lawson cover the small wings.
Kyrie and Exum can't be relied on for the RS and Luka shouldn't play 70+ games of very high load due to missing 2nd on ball scorer or table setting PG, Hardy isn't that guy, so Green and Powell salary slot should go towards filling this need, my preference would be Tyus , Bogi or Sexton.

DAL receives: CamJo
BRK receives: Green + Kleber + DAL 25 FRP

DAL gets a sniper with size. He easily slots into almost any lineup DAL puts out there and would feast with the volume of open 3s. No effect on cap either (exact match) so DJJ for TMLE is still safe.

BRK gets a FRP + gets a look at Green. Maybe Kleber can get routed elsewhere if needed.

Ya - ideally you get better D than Cam can provide but that shooting would be so huge in Dallas.

appreciate the objectivity here as I've seen Mavs fans offer a FRP with this type of package for Wiggins

Lol I'd gladly take one if you're offering! But I don't see anyone offering a FRP for Wiggins at this point.
